Candy Store, 10-11 November 2004 - Al Fallujah, Iraq. 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Alpha Company, 1st Platoon.

"No True Glory" by Bing West and "Fallujah With Honor" by Gary Livingston detail it out rather well.

"D-Day: Shootout in Fallujah" on the Military Chanel does an okay job on it too.

Ah. A couple of years before my time. We drove through Fallujah on our way to Baghdad from Mosul. One half looked like a normal haji town, the other half was pretty much razed to the ground.

Must’ve been a hell of a fight.

It was. Every NCO and above (all E-4 and up in the MC) was given "ByDir" authority to call arty, air strikes, tanks, etc. They shoot, drop weapons, and run into a mosque?

Thank goodness for artillery. JDAMS are also nice this time of year.

One of the adjacent infantry units used D9 bulldozers to "clear" houses - literally.

They shoot, drop weapons, and run into a mosque?

IIRC, ya'll were allowed to attack mosques in Fallujah, right? I remember a USMC field grade (or general?) telling the press that every single mosque the Marines entered was held sizable weapons caches.

One of the adjacent infantry units used D9 bulldozers to "clear" houses - literally.

Now that's awesome. I used one of my Strykers to plow through a school's gate when we started taking sniper fire from the school's second floor. Definitely a wonderful method of entry/clearing. I can only imagine what that looks like with houses and D9s!

Yes, if there was enemy activity in them we were allowed to destroy (not just return fire or enter) - destroy mosques, schools, clinics etc. With the exception of one, and that was the Hydra Mosque, which you can see (Charlie Co?) rushing to clear it in the video.

If you watch it and see the machine gun shooting at the apartment building and then the M1A1 launch the main gun twice......that is my gun team on the 240G - there were about 4-6 muj on each floor that you don't see in the video. The tank used our tracers to 'trace' the target.

And every time the topic is brought up about chicks in the grunts, I remember how glad I am they weren't with us.

For the D9s, I think it was 3/1 - they just straight up plowed the houses over. I know they killed a few haji by running them over with the dozers.

Supposedly, one (probably shot up on adrenaline or Iraqi meth) jumped off a balcony onto a D9.....the driver knocked him off with the blade and then cut him in two with it. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, war is a gruesome thing.

I’m not.

I’m simply pointing out that if the females think they are equal then why aren’t more of them playing in the NFL.

The reason would be that the NFL is based on individual performance - nowhere to hide on the playing field.

Females may “win” the opportunity to serve in Combat Units by way of the courts - but there will be nobody watching when their physical performance in the field will have to be covered by others.

For Dimocraps the only reason the military exists is for social engineering to destroy it as a viable means of defending our country. I guess we could call the platoon of female infantrywomyn “The Humpin Heifers.”

They just think they want to do that because they have the unreasonable expectation that Uncle Sugar will not let anything untoward happen to them.

Sooner or later, they will realize that their faith in Uncle Sugar is misplaced.
