Well, another place I’ll never work.
Had two flu shots in my life, caught the flu both times. No flu shots in the last 42 years - and no flu.
And all the people that push that crap can kiss my rusty dusty. I am absolutely convinced it does much more harm than good.
They’re pushing it heavily at the VA hospitals. Never had one, that I know of, though the military gave me so many shots that anything could’ve been in those. You got the flu from it?
Same here. The only flu shot I ever got put me down for a week.
One of my 2 doctors warns against getting a flu shot. He was happy to hear that I don’t get them. My last one was about 15 years ago. I have bad allergic reactions to the shot that got worse every shot. My last and final one caused my arm to swell up for about a week with a knot about the size of a half pin pong ball. The knot gets really hot and is very painful. Not a normal pain like a tetanus shot or a hard punch in the arm. It’s more like a branding.
BTW - I did get the flu once since then. I missed 11 days of work. I would still rather have the flu than the shot.
Got a flu shot, felt miserable for 2 weeks, felt better after 5 weeks, then got the flu bad in short order. Never again. Ever.
I could have written your post myself.
I got the bronchitis two years in a row right after the shots ,and the pneumonia once after ghetting flu shots. Last 3 years I passed and got by just fine.
No flu shots for me.
Military, you have no choice.
I had one flu shot and got the flu, plus my arm swelled, turned red and was hot - doc said never to take another one as I was allergic to what they put in the shot.
I am very allergic to iodine - shrimp, crab, clam, and if I have one bite of any of those, I'm ultra nauseous three days, my skin turns red and gets hot and I have chills that three days.
I don't take flu shots no matter what a doc says (I'm the one who gets sick, he doesn't). In winter, I try to stay far enough away from people who are sick so that their spittle when they cough, doesn't get to me. I wash my hands well when I get back from going somewhere.
The same happened to me. I HAD to get a flu shot in the Air Force. A couple of months later I got the flu real bad. Never had one since and never had the flu again!
One of Cincinnatis largest employers fired approximately 150 employees Wednesday for failing to get a required flu shot.
150 idiots. The military requires every person to get them or get kicked out. What makes these jerks so special. I am so glad that they fired them. This is GREAT news!!!!!
They are no long made with a live virus and they do not give you the flu anymore. It takes about 2 weeks to become protected and there are flu viruses out there that are not included in the shot.
I had an allergic reaction after getting my flu shot a few years ago and it was decided that the preservative was the problem. For the last 3 years I have gotten the vaccine without preservative and have had no problem. Sometimes you have to search out preservative free vaccine.
The flu is especially dangerous for older people as it can easily go into pneumonia. I will get a flu shot every year as long as Obamacare lets me.
