At the risk of stating the obvious, the Democrat Party has moved much further left but the Republcans have also shifted to the left. We are no longer a right of center country, at least for now.
However, the impending economic calamity looming before us and the widespread pain it will cause will likely result in a major reorientation of everyone’s thinking. Our economic situation is simply unsustainable and it will have political repercussions when the system collapses and is no longer able to support government largesse that the masses have become accustomed to. Greece is like watching a movie trailer for the coming US chaos. The grand illusion of printing prosperity will soon be over.
I am so not looking forward to the collapse.
This whole thing feels like the tsunami. Everybody else just sees a beautiful white sandy beach on a sunny day, and I’m seeing the water drawing way off shore in warning. And there is no knowing how long you have until it comes but it is coming and when it gets here it will always seem much sooner than expected.
So for the collapse. Life will go on and on in relative comfort and then one day it will start to tighten and just spiral down the toilet.
I’m dreading it.
