Does anyone in FReerland know whether or not doctors are mandated to ask patients about their ownership of firearms?
No one in their right mind will sign up to be a doctor from about last year through the unforseeable future.
Taking care of oneself will be primary. The obese will be under the bus- they’re there already, they just don’t know it.
Doctors should have been way out in front on this and this article is four years late.
But the AMA is a pro abortion group. Always has been. That’s against the Hip. Oath.
They sold their souls to this and the future of medicine as it was in the U.S. was over on Nov 6th.
They have only themselves to blame.
We are on our own.
Prevention, diet, wound treatment, antibiotic treatment, exercise, knowledge of disease symptoms and treatment etc. Get with the program.
This MD is just whining.
:: I have now posted a notice in my office and each exam room stating exactly what Obamacare will cover ::
Read the comments and no, I arnt kitting meself.
Is there a link to Dr. Weiss’ notice, as posted? That would be instructive, I think.
I have a great doc. When I come in to see him, (maybe once a year), he asks me how I’m doing, checks everything up and then sends me on my way. If the law prevents him from being a better doctor, he just does what he should be doing.
Every time I read something like this, I am astounded by how awesome my doctor is.
Coming soon, obligated to ask if you are a gun owner - some pediatricians already do, though they are not yet mandated to do so.
Vladimir Lenin said it best: "The key to Marxism is medicine."
This 2700 page "thing" was written by morons, supported by morons, passed by morons and signed by a moron....so what could go wrong here?
...it may take a few months and a lot of anguish, gnashing of teeth and further wasting of money to find the solution, but its there...staring everybody in the face.
When this "trap door" is found, the regime will quickly move to close it, but hey, this ain't 2009-2010...the regime doesn't have us by the short hairs anymore...the "door" will be impossible to close....(unless, of course, our fearless Speaker doesn't throw us under the bus like our fearless CJ did)
...but, sigh....this may be the ramblings and dreams of an old man, just wishing...and hoping that my grandchildren's life will be better than mine, and my life has been good...
Heh... I always ask the plumber to break the law when he installs a new faucet in my kitchen or bath. “Can you get the government flow restricters out of there for me?” It takes the plumber half-a-minute to do something it takes me half-an-hour to do. Amazingly, some plumbers are hesitant to do it for fear of breaking the law!
“Obamacare and its 2,000-plus pages are here to stay. I will still give my patients 100% of my time, energy, and knowledge. I still love being a doctor my patients doctor. I will, however, abide by the law and follow it to the letter. I will have to learn this new dance. Free has its price.”
This is defeatism. Cooperating with the regime by “learning a new dance” only strengthens the regime and tyranny. I guess for this sell-out doc, free does have its price, he is giving up his freedom to practice by complying with these inane rules that will probably impede care.
I have stopped seeing traditional Medicare patients (but will still see Advantage plans for now). I am still in private practice, and I am not planning to go to electronic records. Doctors are not required to ask patients about firearms (but I do enjoy talking about guns when the subject comes up).
There are 3 general paths now for doctors: retire/other profession, join a hospital group and become a part of the machine, reduce exposure to government insurance and go to cash or hybrid insurance/cash with other revenue streams. All 3 options will result in a lower physician supply with reduced access.
But as for Dr. Weiss, I think that he should give up medicine and work for John Boehner. Dr. Weiss might be the perfect rino physician.
I saw a story video about this the other day. The woman said she was charged for asking too many questions.

What Obamacare has done for me...my wonderful GP says he is retiring, even though he’s in his mid 50’s. My MS neuro at the Univeristy has rather hastily left his position and is now leading research at a major pharmaceutical...leaving behind no MS specialist to take his place but they’re “searching.” My hospital of choice, 80% of the neurologists in my city (along with a slew of other doctors, but I’ve just researched neurologists), and the lab where I get my tests done, are all in a dispute with my insurance carrier due to increased fees, etc. So as of the end of this month, if no agreement is reached, my choices will be very limited when it comes to neurologists (and I have a suspicion that Obamacare plays into the “price war” in some way).
The “you can keep the doctor you have now” didn’t mention “but they probably won’t be practicing.”
So if you show up at the doctors office for a yearly exam and die during your exam how does he code it? ;-)
My date for the Death of America is not election 2012, but the Saturday night at midnight that Obamacare was rammed through.
This election was just the single instant in US History when we could have elected a GOP president and Senate to overturn Obamacare.
We failed and now our fate is sealed and the Death of America is a certainty. A “when” not an “if”.
My guess is that both parties are in on it.
I am so grateful to the Lord God that I was not born any later than I was. It will be bad enough to have to be subject to Obamacare and the moderate socialism I will have to endure these last 20-30 years of my life, but your grandchildren will endure a lifetime of oppression.
My prayers are for them. We gave away the American Dream. America died on my watch. I didn’t cause it, but it makes me sick to my stomach that America died on my watch. Right on time really — 200 years to that tipping point when the immoral, ignorant masses vote for whichever sheister promises the most apparent free goodies.
Free goodies for all, freedom for none.
Bump
My orthos office has been doing this for years. I can only discuss one thing per visit. Last time I went because my bursa had popped out of my elbow. The day of my visit my back was having horrible spasms also, but I was not allowed to talk about it because I was there for my elbow.
Kind of weird having a doctor ignore a patient’s obvious pain.
I never go to my Internist for a yearly checkup. I just wait for a lot of things to build up and go. She usually ends up sending me somewhere else anyway.
The problem this doctor mentions about how people come in for a physical and then ask about other stuff, makes me question if this was written by a doctor.
I do customer service at a Blue Cross Blue Shield office. In cases like this, most doctors would send in a claim and on the first few lines of service they would list all the preventative services the patient received. The last line of service would be for an office visit. All the preventative services bill out at the covered at 100% rate and thoffice visit is processed according to the terms of the contract.
And I get to be the person who explains it to the irate caller.
This is true and the author should have looked at the bigger picture. Obamacare is not the end game, it's just the means to put private insurance companies out of business and implement single payer. Once single payer is in place, that single payer (the federal bureaucracy) will control all medical care and ultimately run the hospitals. The goal is to socialize a large sector in America's economy as part of the overall goal to socialize the bulk of the economy. There will still be some private enterprise but not in medicine.
I think it was the CDC (Center For Disease Control) who , a few years ago, spent loads of taxpayers money on an anti-gun campaign.
