Anti-Morsi protesters torch Muslim Brotherhood offices
France 24 ^ | 23 Nov 2012

Posted on 11/23/2012 7:01:50 AM PST by mandaladon

Protesters set fire on Friday to the offices of the Muslim Brotherhood, the party of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, a day after he assumed broad new powers not subject to appeal. Pro- and anti-Morsi rallies erupted in cities across Egypt. Protesters torched Muslim Brotherhood offices on Friday, state media said, as supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi staged rival rallies across Egypt a day after he assumed sweeping powers.

The offices of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the Muslim Brotherhood's political arm, were set ablaze in the canal cities of Ismailiya and Port Said, state television said.

An FJP official told AFP the party's office was also stormed in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, where clashes broke out between rival demonstrators.

In Cairo, an array of liberal and secular groups, including activists at the forefront of the protest movement that forced veteran strongman Hosni Mubarak from power early last year, planned to march on Tahrir Square, Cairo's iconic protest hub, to demonstrate against the "new pharaoh".

Morsi's backers led by the powerful Muslim Brotherhood gathered outside the presidential palace in north Cairo in a show of support for his decision to temporarily place his decisions above judicial oversight.

"The people support the president's decisions," the crowd chanted.

Morsi was mulling an address to the nation defending his decision later in the day, aides said.

On Thursday, the president undercut a hostile judiciary that had been considering whether to scrap an Islamist-dominated panel drawing up a new constitution, stripping judges of the right to rule on the case or to challenge his decrees.

The decision effectively places the president above judicial oversight until a new constitution is ratified.

The Islamist president assumed his sweeping new powers in a decree read out by his spokesman Yasser Ali on state television on Thursday. "The president can issue any decision or measure to protect the revolution," it said. "The constitutional declarations, decisions and laws issued by the president are final and not subject to appeal."...............This is Obama's buddy.

Guess old, rumpled Hillary will have to go protect that hero of Obama’s “Arab Spring.” Sounds like not everyone loves him as much as she and Obama do.

What could possibly go wrong with that?

Fox Business is reporting that there are tanks in the street in Cairo trying to break up the demonstrations. I am not sure if the media really means tanks or armored cars, but the dictator is acting. Obama had much to do with installing the Muslim Brotherhood in power in Egypt and is, no doubt, watching approvingly as his creation blooms.

And then won't we have some fun.

Not exactly.

The new boss is an anti-America, anti-non-Islamofascist dictator hell-bent on doing what he can to help destroy the Great Satan and the Little Satan.

The “old boss” was more like the Shah of Iran, a bit despotic, to be sure, but on the whole benign-to-somewhat-friendly to America and America’s interests.

I’d agree that Obammie the Commie as the “new boss” is, in fact, somewhat similar to Jimmy “I Hate America” Carter, the “old boss.”

It appears there are actual sane segments of the Egyptian population. Not that I expect them to become pro-Israel or immediately give up their hatred of Jews and the western world, but it is slightly encouraging to see mideast Muslims demonstrate against abject tyranny. I’d like to see all the Muslim Brotherhood members thrown in the Nile. Crocs gotta eat.

Wow! Maybe this is why Morsi suspended the rule of law?

"Clinton was sympathetic to this argument. Soon after, President Obama was on the phone to Netanyahu with an assurance that US troops would be in place in Sinai next week, after he had obtained President Morsi’s consent for them to go into immediate action against Iranian smuggling networks."

The Egyptians at least protest these dictatorial actions.

Here Obama has done similar things with executive orders, etc. and the media doesn't report it so no one hears of it. And we who do hear about Obama’s communist dictator acts, all we do is post some comment on sites such as this on the Internet and then quickly move on to another topic. When will we all get together and protest on the streets, take the fight to the streets here in the U.S.A. against these communist thugs called democrats?

Well, an encouragingly large number of Egyptians seem to be asking that very same question. There's not much point in overthrowing a dictatorship only to have it replaced by another one. The pro-democracy movement isnt beaten yet...

I suspect that this is part of a deal between 0bama/Hillary and Morsi. Morsi gets Humas to settle down so 0bama/Hillary can claim a great victory on the cease fire and in turn they give Morsi the green light to consolidate his power.
