A robbery of a convenience store along North Broadway ended Thursday evening when a store clerk shot and fatally wounded one of two robbery suspects, Wichita police said.
Shortly after 7 p.m., two armed men entered KC Gas & Groceries store at 1161 N. Broadway, said Sgt. Ron Hunt of the Wichita Police Department. Police got a call about a robbery shortly afterward.
A store clerk fired a gun and shot one of the suspects, Hunt said. The other man ran out.
A police officer arrived minutes later to find a man lying on the floor of the store. The wounded man was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, where he was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m., Hunt said.

I just hope this is not one of them “Business Socialist” type of stores that will fire the employee for defending himself and the business. Businesses who have a “no defense” policy for their employees are just as bad as the Gun Control extremists.
And, I guarantee it....it will be awhile before this store is robbed again. Word gets around quick among criminals that “you will get capped if you rob that store”
Ever notice that in robberies and home invasions, the accomplice gets away almost every time after a defensive shooting?
That means that use of defensive firearms has only a 50% chance of success.
We need to make laws mandating the ownership of Uzi’s and Mac 10’s.

Not sure if I would make a law requiring Uzi and Mac 10 ownership....but I would give every opportunity to STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ownership of them. You make a very good point about the accompilance getting away...
Police are searching for second suspect, described as Amish wearing dark hoodie and light colored pants. Trousers are known to have large brown stain on seat area!
Be warned do not approach suspect from downwind!

Another interesting aspect is once the victim starts shooting even armed perps start running. These perps are truly brave. :>)
