Can’t really celebrate “Cool Britannica” while turning yourself into a province of the EUSSR and have it make any sense.
“Cool Britannica” was the just about silliest marketing slogan ever. Great Britain is (was?) famous for its dignity, stiff upper lip, tradition, and gravitas-even its true eccentrics had a certain nobility-and Blair’s “Cool Britannica” just made a mockery of all that’s best about Britain.
