The cover up is worse than the original crime. When the president conspires with others in government to lie to the American people and claim "national security" as a defense, the congress has a duty and precedent to get to the truth. Lying to the America people and ordering subordinates to lie in a cover up attempt is historically recognized as high crimes and treason and IS definitely an impeachable offense.
When the president of the United States commits high crimes and treason and then lies to the American people and conspires to hide it from congressional investigators and claims national security in an attempt to cover it up, not even his own party can save him.

Denial of requests for security were a dereliction of duty. The lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack were fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority. The inaction during the attack was something more than that.
The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.
ONE man had the authority to act that night.

How about a 4th issue, what was the big CIA mission there? Securing MANPADS, arming Syrians, detention, pure intel? This is the easiest for ObaMao to cover up with one blanket “executive privilege”. It didn’t help Reagan, but then Reagan was a patriot.

Unfortunately that doesn't always seem to be the case. Spineless bastards in both parties saved Bill Clinton from being removed from office. Still Republicans run the House and should begin impeachment hearings ... even if it is likely Obama would not be removed from office irregardless of the offense.

Jim, you are a wise man and I respect everything about you. And, as much as I agree with you, I must also point out that the chances of getting Obama impeached are about the same as an ice cube surviving in h%ll.
The gutless Republicans have a ton of justifiable reasons upon which to bring impeachment charges against Obama, but they will never do it. Given the political divide between the House and the Senate, any action the House might take to impeach will be quashed by the Senate. It will end up like Clinton, the sequel.
I want this Impostor and Fraud in Chief gone as much as most of the people on this site do but, the problem is that the partisanship in the Congress is sharply divided and there is no longer any "loyal opposition".
And, that sharp political divide has permeated across the country and created a huge political divide among "we, the people". So, how do you suggest we proceed to get rid of him? We know that Benghazi is increasingly becoming a huge scandal and it remains questionable how long the DBM and the Congress can pretend it never happened. We also know that his "re-election" was the result of another massive fraud that the DBM and Congress are also pretending didn't happen (with the exception of Col. West who, apparently, hasn't gotten the RNC's talking point memo).
So, what choices do we have? I have contacted my Congresscritter about a variety of reasons to impeach Obama and nothing has happened; and, he is in charge of the House Judiciary Committee!
Short of taking to the streets (*which is anathema to conservatives), I don't know what else we can do. What are your thoughts?
I am encouraged that “reach across the aisle moderates” Graham and McCain as well as Ayotte are speaking and acting as though they already know from classified briefings that Barry CAN BE convicted in the Senate. They are being that brave, IMO, risking accusations of racism and (gasp!) incivility.
Seems I recall a young Yale-educated attorney (acting as counsel)....

The congressional investigators are beginning to smell blood in the water and demands for truth and action will be made. Part 4 commences.
When the press picks up the scent and goes into a feeding frenzy, part 5 won’t be far behind.

Seems to me they are more interested in the sordid details of Gen. Petraeus’ affair than what happened in Benghazi. But I hope you’re right.
That is a distraction. An attempted diversion and further conspiracy in the cover up. Charging Petraeus with any crime (if that’s what they have in mind) may well be their downfall.

Agreed. The media is after all, out for itself first and foremost. Other events will also conspire; there was a lot of stuff going wrong for Richard Nixon that made him a ripe target aside from Watergate, it just added the cherry on top.
Obama’s got his incompetent hands full too...fiscal cliff, Obamacare and the state’s opting-out, gridlock in the House, Israel going to war, and the consequences of his disastrous policies and a whole lot of “us” nipping at his heels every chance we’ve got. If this thing continues to unravel, I don’t think it’s beyond the realm of possibilty that the meda starts to turn on Obama. (as unlikely as that sounds)

48% of the voting public apparently doesn't listen to to the Marxist Media anyway. Add to that the millions of people who didn't vote in the last election because they are so turned off by all the politician.
Then Impeach the president. Make the president go on the defensive leaving him little time to damage the country further. Then make the Democrat Senators pay when they are up for reelection after they don't remove him.

Petraeus certainly won’t go down without taking others with him.
However, it remains to be seen if Congressional investigations will be political theater, or something that will cause Obama to lose sleep.

I f there is enought evidence against him, I don’t see how the Senate dems can let him get away with it. This is much more serious than sex under the desk scandal. 4 men died and they had a huge cover up in front of the whole nation. The CBC would be the only ones that vote against his removal from office screaming racism the whole time. They don’t care that 4 white men died in Benghazi or how it happened. They are too stupid.
The only people that will be screaming racism are the CBC and they are the most racist bunch in Washington. Everyone has begun to ignore them, after all, BO did get re-elected. They can’t claim this anymore.
