Kaiser Permanente officials have confirmed 530 union employees in Southern California have been laid off.
At least 85 position were eliminated at the Fontana and Ontario medical centers, officials said Friday.
Officials at the health-care provider did not release the locations of the other 445 positions.
The layoffs do not include physicians.

Late October, Kaiser laid off 84 non-union employees, which they called a "modest downsizing of staff" in Southern California.
United Steel Workers Local 7600 President Roy Wiles spent his Friday notifying employees they no longer had a job with Kaiser. The union represents clerical, patient care and service workers in the Inland Empire.
The point of the story is the layoffs. Yet, I can’t help but wonder why the steel worker’s union represents clerks.
The workers will be replaced with SEIU union workers as soon as that part of the Obamacare law goes into effect.
Public and private unions should be kept separate. Some of our prison guards in Michigan are UAW.
” Kaiser officials said they have undertaken a series of layoffs to ensure they meet possible changes that could occur with the implementation of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act”
Layoffs, the only way to meet the changes brought on by Obamacare.
“which aims to make sure every American has health care coverage”
But no job and no care.
TSA, Nurses, Doctors will be assimilated by the Borg.
Oh well elections have consequences...more pain comming. If they are planning on invading Texas, Texas really doesn’t do the Union game well in both public and private sectors. I hate to see folks lose jobs, but Obama needs to do more damage to get the Lemmings to start screaming for a savior. Sadily he will require some fundamental changes before help is rationed out.

Clinton Community College - Faces Layoffs in 2013-14
Update: Memorial Medical Center Ca. - 114
Update: Kaiser Permanente S. CA. - Confirms 530
But, I thought under Obamacare Health services was supposed to be the new growth industry. /s
I don’t know what the Borg is, but the nurses and even some doctors have already joined the SEIU, all across the country.
It is: 15,000 new attorney/IRS enforcement agents. On the federal budget, of course.
“Yet, I cant help but wonder why the steel workers union represents clerks.”
For the same reason the AFL-CIO wants nurses. Adding to the directors salaries is the top priority.
Hmm, union jobs at Permanente not quite so permanent after all, eh?
I’m afraid these layoffs are playing into Obama’s plans. As they accelerate and become more noticeable, he will have much broader public support to start attacking companies on the way to nationalizing them. I don’t think it will be long before the Justice Department starts suing companies, who will then have to decide whether it is cheaper to keep an employee or fight of a federal lawsuit.
Experienced workers like these will get a big raise working for obamacare.
.
Got your point...
So far Ive been able to document 91,296 people laid off since the election.
Why does the insurance company have to lay off employees because of obammacare? It would seem that there is more work required for obammacare:
PS: Never forget obammacare was doomed until turncoat USSC Justice John Roberts switched his vote! Shame on him!!
