BANGKOK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Thai officials reassured the U.S. Secret Service that lizards found on the Government House grounds were not the dangerous komodo dragons, but water lizards.

"...my first encounter with a Thai lizard came as I woke up after my first "nap", after a 30 hour flight....I heard this scratching, opened my eyes,looked around without moving....heard it again,this time it sounded closer, this time I looked under the bed, "eeeecks", upside down it looked like a fweakin alligator to this city kid....it was an ant trap the guy who was in the bunk two beds down had on a long leash....it took getting used to...

There’s a lizard (a type of gekko I think) in the Phillipines, whose call at night speaks for my attitude toward my present government. Old WESTPAC sailors know what I’m talking about.
