Majority of Americans Are Upbeat About the Next Four Years [54% vs 65% after '08 election]
Gallup ^ | 11/16/12

A majority of Americans believe the country will be better off four years from now, while 41% say it will be worse. But this level of optimism is down considerably from four years ago, following President Barack Obama's first election victory, when 65% said the country would be better off in four years, and prior to his first inauguration, when 72% said the same.

Check it out: right after the CLOWN get elected in 2008, 65% of America was deluded enough to think he'd make things better.

Insanity really set in and by the town he seized power 2 months later in January of 2009, 72% of Americans thought that four years of his policies would benefit this nation.

I guess I take some solace in the fact that the number is down 11% from four years ago...and I am BETTING that by January of 2013, Americans will have an even lower view of the future...

Which, while sad, would also be more realistic.

We are experience Jimmy Carter's third term.

Democrats are nearly unanimous in their positive feelings that the next four years will be better for the country, with 94% saying so versus 4% who think things will be worse. Republicans are nearly as united but in the opposite direction, with 11% saying the country will be better off and 86% seeing the country souring. Independents are more upbeat than not about the future, 51% to 40%.

I think too many people are doing too much “medical” happy smoke in this country. That or meth.

I think I’ve heard of Gallup. They’re the ones who said we would have a president-elect Romney right about now.

My God. How deluded can people believe. The economy is a mess. 23 million unemployed and more losing their jobs every day. It makes no sense. People have really gone mad.

Apparently, as long as the MSM keep telling people everything is swell and Obama is terrific people really do buy it. Apparently staring down the barrel of total economic devistation doesn’t phase people as long as they have that warm glowing happy talk on the flat screen.

I can somewhat sympathize with the folks who expected better in 2009, because they were brainwashed about blank slate Baraq by the media. Those who have now experienced four years and still expect better really are morons.

Better off four years from now — because BO will finally be out of the White House (we hope)?

It seems they are testing their base voters.

Must be disappointing for them to see their dear Leader down some though remaining upbeat that a good number of the Jim Jones followers are still on the Obama bus..

“Despite the smiles and the uplifting rhetoric, Romney’s message was essentially one of austerity: we’ll have to suck it up and tighten the belt before it gets better. And America did not want to hear that message. It burns.”

That 54% is nearly identical to the percentage that still blame Bush for the economy. Figures.

54% are optimistic? Makes sense to me. 51% re-elected the Marxist Despot. There is no statistically significant difference between those two numbers.
