How many American lives did we waste for these idiots?
Yeah, sure, right they will love us better if we elect bammy.
Absolutely. They should be paying us in oil for their liberation.
We need to change our philosophy.
If we decide to sacrifice American lives in another war, then we keep a piece of the land we shed blood for. In this case, we should have secured a portion of their oil resources permanently. Screw this nation building crap. We should have permanent bases with a lot of land and natural resources now in Iraq... forever.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
They are cowardly vermin who can never be trusted.
We were better off with Saddam as dictator. I so regret supporting that G**-damned war there.
Liberation=a gift signed, sealed and delivered to Iran. The ONLY Iraqis deserving of our help were the Kurds.
We all knew this was coming!
IF this is not enough to cut foreign aid to all the middle east nothing is.
Those people do not want freedom on there own.
They want Americas money.
The taxpayer Dollar that went to that country to liberate it is nothing.
But the Lives of Americans that fought for these people that allow this ilk back into their leadership are!
Look for Iraq to become the next Muslim Brotherhood ruled country and Ass kissed by 0!
Sadly, I agree. I supported Bush and Iraqi Freedom. While we just don't know what the M.E. would look like with Saddam still there, I do not know what benefit the USA rec'd for our efforts. Seems we simply turned Iraq over to Iran or the Islamists.
We should’ve made Iraq pay war reparations, and ditched the nation building. We’d be far less in debt now.
Yup! At least he kept everybody in line. We could have bought him off and kept him in place.
Not ‘just’ the 4,500 dead. How many tens of thousands maimed and crippled physically and mentally? How many marriages ruined and children scarred by repeated and extended deployments? What really is the price in blood and treasure? I think it is astronomically, incalculably high.
It p*sses me off to the point of near homicidal rage when I hear slimeballs like our democrat politicians mouthing off at what an ‘imperialist’ country we are. No other nation in the history of mankind would make this kind of investment in conquering and occupying a resource-rich region like this and then not exploit it. We are either the most altruistic nation ever or the most stupid - or both.
This may have finally pushed me into and beyond the Ron Paul camp. No more nation-building, saving, rescuing, bailing out ANYBODY. Let them stew in their own juices and if they become a big enough nuisance, turn them into subatomic particles.
I am framing a picture of Curtis LeMay for the wall of my office.
It rather interesting to watch the response to “one of” Iraq leaders’s comments. Does everyone agree with him, or is he shooting off his mouth like Barney Frank does?
Then you look at Europe itself, totally in the tank for the Palestinians. Whose men died to defend it?
Our own president, why he’s holding our energy product hostage too. He hates Israel, and loves the Islamic nations of the Middle-East, Africa, and Asia. How many died so he could be our ‘leader’?
Iraq has it’s problems. So does Europe. So do we.
For the next twelve years his own people continued to fear him more than they feared us; it should not have been left that way.
Allegiance?? The dumb Infidels just don't understand Islam and it's relationship to Infidels as spelled out in the Koran and Hadiths. -Tom
Iraq was a total waste of American blood. The only way to deal with the middle east is high altitude carpet bombing.
It was a hard judgment call to make, I don’t beat myself up over supporting the war.
I blame all of this Anti-American garbage from the new Iraqi state on the Bush Administration’s failure with the CPA and occupation, and Congress allowing Iran to replace us in influence.
None of us thought that Washington would do everything to cause an insurgency out of fear of an insurgency, and we were wrong.
The opening act is playing out in Gaza right now. hasta la muerte.
How much foreign aid is the US giving them this year?
Many if not most liberals likely support Iraq in this.
Darul Salam....Darul Harb...over and over, just like Crimson and Clover.
I think the Palestinian talk is just something that gets thrown out by these Middle Eastern countries for every problem they have. Iraq cares about the Palestinians? Baloney. This is just more convenient talk by these oil countries to keep the price of oil high or send it higher. The Jordanians ran the Palestinians out of their country because they were nothing but trouble. If the Jordanians wouldn’t have them, why should we believe any Middle Eastern country that says they feel sorry for the poor Palestinians?
Its MUCHOS GRACIAS SENIOR BUSH!!!!!!!
Bush was an IDIOT. He thought he could RVERSE 1500 years of tribal savagery enshrined in their most “sacred” text and convert a nation of Mohammadans into grateful western democrats, by pandering to Islam and WASTING the lives of our troops and our money.
He thought the same thing in Afghanistan.
Obozo pulled us out of Iraq but we are STILL stuck in Afghanistan.
The ONLY way to deal with these pigs is through Blitzcrieg attacks - maximizing damage to their nation and infrastructure and THEN PULL OUT - minimizing costs to US in lives and money.
If another crazy dictator takes over and threatens us REPEAT THE LESSON.
Eventually they will get a crazy dictator who wants to be our friend - then SUPPORT HIM.
ENOUGH of this humanitarian drivel wasted on Muslim savages.
I don’t care if they love us or hate us, as long as they FEAR us.
Withdraw at once. Let these animals tear each other apart. They’ll all end up like Somalia or Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. We should also refuse any more asylum seekers from these countries. Let the ‘enlightened’ europeans take them if they bitch about it.
You actually stopped to think before you posted. Stop being so blasted rational.
This one IS “Bush’s Fault”...for refusing to treat Iraq as we did postwar Japan and Germany - for not banning Islamic law, for not killing Muqtada al Sadr, for replacing a tough general with weak, State Department hack Paul “Pussy” Bremer, who let the radicals run rampant, and for failing to seize control of their oil industry and force repayment of every last cent of our costs of war there.
How soon before Obama comes out and says”
“I never claimed to be the one to end the war in Iraq, that all happened long before me”.
When you give aid to Muslims they think that you have submitted to them, that they rule over you, and that they own all that you have. Non-Muslims must not forget this.
muslim gratitude at its highest.
We deal with the Arabs in hopes that they will be logical, sane, thankful and predictable.
This is a culture where normal is mutilating little girls, sodomizing little boys, killing wantonly and treating women on a level with animals. And it’s been that way for thousands of years.
We are the fools.
Thank Colon Powell for that one.
Yes, I spelled it "Colon."
Geepers, I am SOOOOO glad we squandered billions of taxpayer dollars and 4500 American lives to free these sand crabs from So Damn Insane.
Why did we do that!???
And aren’t we glad we expended lives and national treasure to save you ignorant a-holes from Saddam...
That’s what I say. Those people will NEVER change and this is what you get when you try to run a “politically correct” war and hog tie our military! They’re over there dying and are expected to play tip-toe through the tulips so as not to offend anyone. Get them OUT and blow the dammned place to smithereens!! :(
One sees precious little evidence that this “gentleman’s” views are much at variance with the rest of his government or for that matter the vast majority of the population of this benighted region.
I cannot agree with your drawing an equivalence between Europe post-WWII and the modern middle east. For one, we occupied Europe for fifty years. In a sense, we still do. Europe responded to the Marshall Plan and evolved. Maybe only because of total war, and they were finally exhausted of war and susceptible to change. Maybe the cushy welfare state we financed for them kept them fat and content. Anyway, Western Europe has avoided butchering one another for over half a century. Although, I think that is backsliding as we watch. Tribalism is on the rise in Europe as the welfare state collapses and the vestigial cultural differences are again emerging. Without an occupying power it will be interesting to see where this leads.
As for our own illustrious Premier (it seems fitting to use an honorific compatible with his political orientation) - I believe my brief comment on his opposition to the development of domestic sources of petroleum is sufficient.
Yep. On the wrong side in that one thanks to Clintoooon.
So much for gratitude. Next time, give imperialism a chance.
I agree, and so does my stepson who served as a tank driver in Iraqi Freedom. The only thing these ragheads understand is brute force, and we were much better off leaving the secular dictators in place and letting them kill each other off.
A great deal of blood and sweat was shed to give Iraq an opportunity. The jury is still out, however it does not look promising.
Instead of bombing Iraq to smithereens and leaving, Bush just had to do nation-building, spending $1T along the way, and giving us Obama and two far left Supreme Court judges. Bush’s “compassionate conservatism” as applied to foreign affairs really screwed us big time. And the leading lights of the GOP are now looking to apply Bush’s policy towards any Arab troglodytes who want to overthrow their governments. What part of “inside every foreigner *isn’t* an American struggling to get out” don’t they understand? The way democracy works is garbage in, garbage out. America-haters will vote in an America-hating government. Ultimately, the neo-con manifesto is yet another example of the triumph of hope over experience in dictating foreign policy - disaster after disaster leaves these fantasists completely unfazed.
You ought to be pissed off at Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, and the other neocons who pushed us into this stupid invasion. Remember their promises? It will be quick and easy, the Iragi people will love us, and their oil will more than pay for the war?
This was the dumbest military move since Custer decided to pimp with a few Indians. I don’t know how any of those people can look in a mirror.
How much freign aid is Obama sending them?
Ok, anyone NOT see this coming? Falling right into line with Biblical prophesy.
Although I ended up voted for Nixon in 1968, I almost cast a ballot for George Wallace's American Independent Party solely because the great General Curtis LeMay was on the ticket. Had circumstances been such that LeMay had power in that adminstration, our victory in Vietnam would be assured and Red China would have been eliminated as a threat. Regardless of his other shortcomings, Wallace showed sound judgment in his choice of LeMay.
