The government of a country never gets ahead of the religion of a country. There is no way by which we can substitute the authority of law for the virtue of man. Of course we endeavor to restrain the vicious, and furnish a fair degree of security and protection by legislation and police control, but the real reform which society in these days is seeking will come as a result of our religious convictions, or they will not come at all. Peace, justice, humanity, charitythese cannot be legislated into being. They are the result of divine grace.
― Calvin Coolidge
Wow, just wow! Powerful words.
Coolidge is cool.
BTTT! Yet another reason for supporting FR. These truths have been buried and are not taught to the children or even adults for that matter.
Education is the answer. We must kick the left out of the process of deciding what values are taught to our children.
Silent Cal was one of our finest!
Thanks very much for posting those powerful words of wisdom from him.
Coolidge’s words are indelible and thus impossible to remove from the fabric of our country. His words also convicts the whole of the Democrat party as traitors to a country our founding Fathers, and our ancestors fought to create.
I have ancestors who have fought and some have died doing so in ever war from our revolution to the Korean conflict.
60 years before they met and got married as children of homesteaders in Montana, my Grandmothers ancestors fought against my Grandfathers ancestors in the Civil War.
I will not offer who’s family was on which side, but just to let you know that when I say I have ancestors who fought in every war I mean “Every War” for our Country. One war just happened to be a family dispute that I am beginning to wonder if the wrong side won.
