She sees an naked guy in a public place and her first reaction is to pull a handgun, load, and threaten to kill the person. Sounds like she has anger issues. Maybe instead she should have walked the other way and called law enforcement.
I think the cops need to have a talk with her.
She had no idea what the SOB’s next step would be - leaping on her, breaking her six-year-old son’s neck, raping both of them, etc. The woman had every reason in the world to expect the worst out of him.

This was a crime-prevention scenario - straight up. You don't call 911, you don't wait on the police. You act. And you can only do that if you're equipped to do so.

She was right to display her gun to make clear that she was capable of protecting herself as she walked away, but being in public and being offended in a non-violent way doesn’t mean that you gun down people to assert your control over public space.

1. She had her 6 year old son with her. Ever hear of NAMBLA!
2. The man was obviously mentally defective. Who knew what acts he was thinking or even capable of committing. Would he chase her down, harm her and her son?
3. There is no right to expose yourself in public and she had a right to protect herself and her son.

So you believe that exposing ones self to a woman and her child is harmless and should be dealt with in what way?
If the guy was sick enough to masturbate in front of her and her child, he was also sick enough to be considered a threat to her safety and that of her son. He displayed a mentally ill behavior and that gave her enough of a legal reason to feel that her life, and that of her child, were in danger.
