Top intelligence officials struggled to explain to lawmakers Thursday why their initial talking points after the Libya attack minimized the role of militant groups, putting pressure on former CIA Director David Petraeus to set the record straight in another round of closed-door hearings Friday.
Lawmakers on the House and Senate intelligence committees heard testimony Thursday in private meetings with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Acting CIA Director Mike Morell. But Fox News was told there were heated exchanges on the House side, particularly over the talking points that administration officials relied on in the days after the Sept. 11 strike.
Fox News was told that neither Clapper nor Morell knew for sure who finalized that information. And they could not explain why they minimized the role of a regional Al Qaeda branch as well as the militant Ansar al-Sharia despite evidence of their involvement. ...

I wonder if anyone asked why the “consulate” was so dadgum big and why they had an Annex a mile away. That was a large complex with a lot of buildings.. What would the U.S. need all of that real estate for in Benghazi?
And Congress accepted that answer???
So far I’ve heard that it could’ve been a weapons depot for a “fast & furious” for Libyan rebels and that the attack was sponsored by Iran.
I’ve also heard that it was a secret holding facility - rendition style - for interrogations etc...the kind of thing that Candidate Obama said he’d never, ever, ever do.
Both sound plausible. No idea what’s actually true.

Coordinated with the mb through obama. That the weapons that were supposedly going to Syria were actually being diverted to gaza through Turkey to Egypt...and the EX SEALs were in Benghazi to stop it.

The past months of unrest have already seen a flood of weaponry seized from Col Muammar Gadaffi’s troops and army stores into the increasingly volatile Egyptian Sinai.
Israeli military intelligence reports that much of the smuggled arsenal has been looted by jihadist elements and is making its way into Gaza through the tunnels at Rafah.
A senior Israeli official confirmed on Monday that while the majority of Gaza’s arsenal comes from Iran via Sudan, a rise in arms arriving from Libya is “an additional preoccupation”.
“Some of the weaponry coming from Iran enters Gaza by sea but all of the weapons from Libya are passing into Gaza by land, through the tunnels from Egypt.

Remember that initially, this whole thing, including the video, was SUPPOSED to be blamed on Israel.
I’m growing tired of this and I can only imagine how the families of the victims feel. Since this is becoming a big game I’d like to see Clapper frog marched in order to jog some memories.
Perhaps Clapper and Morrell as just PLAIN INCOMPETENT. That would explain a lot.
And COWARDS to boot. WOULD EXPLAIN MORE.

Kudos to Greta Van Sustern on her show last Night . Greta is not known as a Conservative and she is the only Host I Have seen on TV ask the Question of What was the CIA doing In Benghazi? Were they Running Guns to the Syrian Rebels?
She asked this of the supposed Right wing attack dog Dana Rohrbacher Representative from Californis,Yeah the same one who yesterday called Obama a Liar about this Coverup. But even Mr. Attack dog ran for the tall Hills when Greta asked that one.
Folks this dog and Pony Show we are Watching is a Massive Coverup,and BOTH sides Know what Happened and NO one wants to go there. The public is so used to being led by the ring in their Nose they cant even awake from their Stupor and their Brainwashers and think Critically and ask that same question that Greta asked and she has been grappling with for some time,Why would people make up such stupidity about a Video,What was Stephens and the CIA doing in the hot Bed of Alqueda,Benghazi? Greta hit it,They were running Guns to the Syrian rebels,Alqueda Jihadists. That is the rosetta Stone here folks all this why did No One Help,Blah Blah Blah,
Why are we arming the Jihadists that are trying to Destroy us? Because Obama wants to Help in creating the Caliphate for the Muslim Brotherhood. He would love to keep talking about the sex scandal with Petraeus,or his poor UN ambassador Susan Rice. Wake up folks
