The Hill ^ | Nov. 15, 2012 | Erik Wasson

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) confirmed Thursday that she will seek the chairmanship of the Senate Budget Committee next year but told The Hill that she cannot commit to doing a budget.

This opens up the possibility that Senate Democrats will avoiding passing a budget resolution for the fourth year in a row.

The last time the Senate passed a standalone budget resolution was in 2009.

This past year, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said a budget was not necessary because the top-line spending number for appropriations was set in the August 2011 debt-ceiling deal.

Murray said that an agreement to avoid the "fiscal cliff," the looming $600 billion in tax increases and spending cuts set to strike in January, could preclude having to pass a Senate budget next year.

Congress is mandated by law to have a budget.

The law mandating a budget was passed by liberal Democrats back in the 70s.

....nevermind, no one is listening.....

No negotiations until the Senate passes a budget and puts their priorities and positions in writing.

That committee would need a new name then, wouldn't it?

Do-nothing committee?

F**k-off committee?

Anti-budget committee?

I realize, Ms Murray that - as a democrat - you do not have the capability to count beyond the numbers of your fingers and smelly toes.

Why not let those of us with measurable IQs run the country and idiot bimbos like you can do something more capable of your ability....like....er.....uh....see Paula Broadwell.

In summary, you are worthless sleezbimbo, and are only producing CO2.

Here's a prediction. With no budget operative, sequestration will be de rigueur for all departments and agencies of the US Government. The only department which will honorably and faithfully try to live up to that intent will be the Department of Defense. The big MIC contractors will soon be reporting massive drawdowns. No other agencies or departments will report such because they will be specially exempted by the supreme ruler.

...avoiding passing a budget resolution for the fourth year in a row

... and the massive $780 BILLION "ONE TIME" stimulus of payoffs to unions and indirect 'Rat campaign contributions continues to be baked into the "continuing resolution budget" for the fourth year in a row.

Murray said that an agreement to avoid the "fiscal cliff," the looming $600 billion in tax increases and spending cuts set to strike in January, could preclude having to pass a Senate budget next year.

Why am I not surprised?

The Republican House should:

a. Pass a budget and send it to the Senate

b. Leave town.

c. And advise Harry Reid that they're not coming back until the Senate passes a budget and agrees to abide by the Conference Committee's decision.

If that is what is necessary to get the Democrat Senate to meet their Constitutional responsibilities, that is what should be done. It is also an eminently defensible position, whereby every question from the MSM can be met with a justifiable statement that effectively ridicules the Democrat position.

It is time to take a stand against budgetary suicide.

A “Senate Budget Committee” that doesn’t produce a budget is as useless as teats on a boar. Let’s just disband the worthless Senate. That would be one of the best budget-reductions we could make.

Unbelievable. If this were a sane and just world, crap like this would NOT be permitted. An independent media would go bonkers over such an asinine statement with credit downgrades to the USA and an impending fiscal cliff which threatens its economic future.
