The murder of Shaima Alawadi, a Muslim woman in California, was trumpeted worldwide as an “anti-Muslim hate crime.” Now it turns out that it was an Islamic honor killing. But rest assured that there will be no media stampede to correct the deliberate lie. For the Islamic supremacists and their useful idiots in the media, this poor woman has served her purpose.
Kari Huus of NBC News reported Friday that “police have arrested the husband of an Iraqi woman beaten to death in her home eight months ago for what initially looked like a racially motivated hate crime. … Kassim Alhimidi, 48, was booked into jail Thursday evening on one count of first-degree murder. He is being held without bail.”
How things have changed. Here’s the lead paragraph from the Associated Press story on the murder from last March. Myriad enemedia outlets mirrored this slant:
“A 32-year-old woman from Iraq who was found severely beaten next to a threatening note saying ‘go back to your country’ died on Saturday.
“Hanif Mohebi, the director of the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said he met with Shaima Alawadi’s family members in the morning and was told that she was taken off life support around 3 p.m. ‘Our community does face a lot of discriminatory, hate incidents and don’t always report them,’ Mohebi said. ‘They should take these threats seriously and definitely call local law enforcement.’”
Uh, no. Shaima Alawadi was honor killed by her husband. But that part of the story will get little press. Shaima was murdered by her husband and then again by the media and Hamas-CAIR.

Well duh! Several freepers including myself called this an honor killing on day one. The women was 32 years old and her 17 year old daughter was being forced to marry an older cousin. I was shocked that the San Diego County District Attorney allowed that guy to go to Iraq for the funeral. I am doubly shocked that he came back.
What changed? She’s no longer a Muslim ?
I guess criticizing a Muslim for an honor killing is a hate crime also.
What was the thing offensive to Islam that she had done for which the killer beat her to death? I tried to glean it out of what was linked here and what was linked to that, without any luck.
She was in the process of getting a divorce. She wanted to move to Texas with her 17 year old daughter before the daughter was forced to marry an older cousin.
If the information in COmment #3 is correct, then I would say it was in supporting her daughter’s wish not to marry the father’s husband choice. Thus she was failing in proper Islamic “submission.” A film by this name got the producer murdered in Europe.

This has led some to question Norquists entire influence in the GOP, especially his no tax pledge that has driven us to the brink of the “fiscal cliff.” Could this be part of a plan to help America destroy/weaken itself vis a vis the Muslim plan for world domination and conversion?

I think Norquist is right about the taxes; that they are at such a point already that boosting RATES further would cause REVENUE to suffer.
Here at FR is the only place I have heard about these suspicions regarding Grover Norquist, and I pay attention to a number of different news sources.
I am not sure what you mean about boosting rates further. I remember when the rich paid 90% and then it was dropped to 70%. Under Clinton I believe it was 39.5%, and then Bush cut it to 35%. Now Obama is talking about putting the top 2% back to the Clinton rates, when if I recall correctly, he collected enough revenue to erase the Reagan spending debt. Since he says he does not want to restore the Clinton rates on 98% of taxpayers I am not too worried. He also pointed out that the first $250,000 of income would be at the Bush rate, and only income above that rate would go back to 39.5% I do wish this would be settled quickly so our business people can have a good Christmas shopping season, with lots more Christmas jobs needed.
