WASHINGTON—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Wednesday opposed a request by Republican senators for a new Senate select committee to investigate the Sept. 11 U.S. consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya.
"No," said Mr. Reid (D., Nev.), when asked if he favored creation of such a committee.

Just have the House Republicans call a special committee together to investigate Benghazi and invite Republican Senators to the House side hearings to ask all the questions they want. What’s Harry Reid going to do, call his mother and whine?

I, along with others, knew that Reid would oppose the creation of a committee. Further, his opposition will effectively kill any attempt to form such a committee.
