(Reuters) - Israel launched a major offensive against Palestinian militants in Gaza on Wednesday, killing the military commander of Hamas in an air strike and threatening an invasion of the enclave that the Islamist group vowed would "open the gates of hell".
The onslaught shattered hopes that a truce mediated on Tuesday by Egypt could pull the two sides back from the brink of war after five days of escalating Palestinian rocket attacks and Israeli strikes at militant targets.
Operation "Pillar of Defense" began with a surgical strike on a car carrying the commander of the military wing of Hamas, the Islamist movement which controls Gaza and dominates a score of smaller armed groups.
Within minutes of the death of Ahmed Al-Jaabari, big explosions were rocking Gaza, as the Israeli air force struck at selected targets just before sundown, blasting plumes of smoke and debris high above the crowded city.

Reuters BS, read their ‘false news’ article. “Israel launched a major offensive against Palestinian militants in Gaza”
They fail to mention Israel is reacting in a defense measure to the daily rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza.
I expect that from reuters.
At this point of the game I could care less. Basically the article read “Israel kicked ass” and that is all that is important to me.
Here's what angers me. The Palestinian fired rockets for years, and most recently for days on end, but that didn't shatter any hopes at all. Israel fires back, and all of a sudden hopes are shattered!
The Israeli life is worth less than a goldfish to these reporters.

I saw in another place it was called Operation Pillar of Cloud. I wondered if it will be followed up by Operation Pillar of Fire in Iran.
Omugabe may be hostile to Israel, but Israel can always count on the support of the overwhelming percentage of Americans.

Israel protects itself. They can expect little to no help from this country.
No surprise that the media paints Israel as the bad guy.
Israel is going to have to get even tougher and more aggressive in the days and years ahead.
It shames me to say, but they are truly on their own for the foreseeable future. I don’t know that they have any true allies now that Obama is their hope.
I feel like apologizing to Israel.
All the MSM articles have it that “Israel is the aggressor” , no mention of it being retaliation to the daily rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza into Israel’s homeland.
Meanwhile in DC it’s all about the sex scandal.
