Piers Morgan asked a pretty good question of former CIA agent Robert Baer on his show last night, and Baer is just as perplexed as Morgan. David Petraeus suddenly resigned yesterday after the FBI discovered an extramarital affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell, but does the FBI routinely investigate the director of the CIA? Baer tells Morgan, “There is something going on here,” apart from the sexual peccadilloes. Or could it be as simple as the old adage that “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”?

This is clear. There’s a broader agenda and goal at work here. I think it is broader than Benghazi as well.
It is about consolidation of leftist control of our most important governmental departments, bureaucracies and institutions.
Ed Morrissey starts right off with a total logical impossibility: Piers Morgan is not capable of asking an interesting question, even accidentally.
From what I’ve heard, and don’t hold me to this 100%, the harassment emails sent to this other woman from Broadwell specifically named Petraus.
I share your skepticism on this point - was the FBI completely surprised that the subject of the EMAILs turned out to be Petraeus or was it obvious to them who Broadwell was talking about from the beginning?
Petraeus had to go when it was discovered it was a heterosexual affair.
