The Financial Markets Have Yet To Begin Factoring In What Lies Ahead
The stock market may have found a temporary bottom as investors try to step away from the election and focus on the economy. The problem is that despite the election being over, the two dynamics are more interdependent now than they were before the Obama wins.
The really big picture is that daily life and the financial markets are now becoming one single entity. The days where markets were focused on factoring in the future are now past, at least for now. And making matters worse, we don't see any evidence that the market has quite caught up to reality fully yet.
What few seem to understand is that the United States is now a truly divided country. Republicans are not happy about the outcome of the election. They aren't sure why they lost, but they know that they lost because of something that they did. The question is whether they want to change their ways or dig in further while they try to convert larger numbers into joining their ranks, or whether they want to explore totally different avenues of adjusting to the new reality of their lives, higher taxes, government mandates, and a centrally run economy.
Interestingly, few Democrats are truly giddy. They won the election. But now they truly hold the country's future in their hands. A large portion of the public truly believes that Democrat policies will right the ship. They might. And yet they might not. So now it's all real. The pressure is really on. The Democrats are on their own. Few Republicans will help them. The divisions will widen.

Whoops, time for a new tagline.
Who can forget Pelosi holding her news conferences on Fridays after the monthly unemployment numbers are released and with great indignation talk about the continuing high unemployment and misery in the country and what few jobs are created are hamburger flipper jobs. Of course, unemployment was at 4.5%.
The democrats do it with a straight face and with the help of the media. They are patient, it took 6 years of constant attacks on Bush, but they finally succeeded. They are relentless, humorless and are on a mission and nothing stops them.
Republicans can't wait to either say nothing or make small talk and mention how the democrat politicians are really warm once you get to know them.
I'm certain the democrats talk amongst themselves how the republicans never catch on.
That may turn out to be the only smart strategy by GOP. Better to endure pain for 4 years than 8 or 16 years or more.
How do you challenge the folly of the left when MSM will not broadcast it? 90%+ of MSM critters are lefty liberals.
But there are ways to get in the face of MSM, it just takes big brass ones. Only Newt and Cain showed some of it, but both did not win primaries.
Unfortunately you are right. Wiemar Germany, Soviet Russia, Mao’s China, Nehru’s India, Peron’s Argentina, etc etc all went through the pain and finally realized folly of socialism and have now made a turn towards capitalism.
We can’t control the MSM, but we can control whether or not we fight hard or not. We largely have not in most elections. In those where we have, we win. History is crystal clear on that.

Yup. So how will that play out? I’ll be watching Greece, Spain and Italy.
They can and they will to their groupies and the groupies will believe it.
If the Americans were smarter than the Greeks, the muslim would not be occupying the White House.
They are going to blame the obstructionist Republican House.
Crap, they blamed the Republicans all during the 1st 2 years when they had super majority and they couldn’t even get all the Dems to vote for their crappy agenda.

Start one person at a time on your block, in your neighborhood, just be a good neighbor and work in a little refutation and information of the real facts as you go. Don’t do it all at once. Pick an issue a week or so.
Sit down and make a list up of 250 names of people you know. Pick 25 to start with. Once they are on board, get them started too.
If this is going to be done, it will have to be at the grassroots level going up so that people are better informed.
If you have a few hours per month, run and become a precinct captain. You’ll get to vote for GOP leadership and people will ask your opinion with respect to candidates.
Maybe write letters to your newspaper. Listen to Reagan’s speeches - they have a great answere as to why the nanny state doesn’t work, and all with a positive attitude.
The movie “Idiocracy” seems not so fictional now.
Post that every day. I watched all 8 yesterday and they each were more intense as they went on. Well worth the time. Smart lady gives a lot of good information about the financial cliff that we went off 30 years ago. We’re just getting ready to splat like a bug on a windshield.

Everday feels like a fictional nightmare to me. Trouble is it’s real.
“If life for most Americans is not better in 2016, the tiger will devour the democrats in 2016, if not sooner in 2014.”
I fear you are wrong, chum. The tiger will devour us all.
As long as we have voting machines, secret ballots and no paper trails, we will get whomever they choose.
Human nature says that the mob will first attack those who tried to tell it “No”. Then it will turn on its masters.
Most human interactions are similar to what an average three year old does. Don’t expect logic to trump emotion.
Try to change one person at a time. But be aware that making them recognize what is going on may provoke an angry reaction.
Most don’t want to know.
Clinton had his feet held to the fire and passed welfare reform and cut capital gains rates. Demoncrats are running wildly in the opposite direction.
The choices then become either Greece or Argentina.
