Australia Orders Federal Child Sex Abuse Inquiry
By KRISTEN GELINEAU Associated Press SYDNEY November 12, 2012 (AP)
Australia's prime minister ordered a federal inquiry Monday into allegations of child sex abuse in state and religious institutions and community groups following a string of sexual abuse accusations against priests and claims of a Catholic Church cover-up.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Fox, who spent years investigating abuse allegations in the Hunter region, said the church destroyed evidence, silenced victims and shuffled around accused priests in a bid to cover up abuse. There have been hundreds of allegations of abuse by priests in the region since the mid-1990s.
Sydney Archbishop Cardinal George Pell, Australia's highest-ranking Catholic official, has previously said he thought a federal inquiry would be a "disproportionate" attack on the church. But in a statement Monday, he said the church would cooperate with the inquiry, adding he hoped the investigation would unveil the truth.

Start at the top and put them all on trail as corrupters of youth. Hemlock is too easy on them though
As a long time Catholic following the abuse stories since the public outcry, I advise this. The Royal Commission will be dealing with the most underhanded ,pernicious and perverted scum in the world.
I am talking about the Catholic Hierarchy, bishops , monsignors and the perverted Clergy. They have destroyed the lives of thousands of children.
“A man would be better to have a millstone tied around his neck and thrown into the sea, Than to hurt one of the little children”
These are truly EVIL people.
There are plenty of child sex abuse allegations involving all kinds of institutions alongside the churches.
Public schools up to college and univerity level like Penn State (Sandusky) here in the US have come under investigation.
In the UK its the BBC and the Jimmy Saville scandal.
Churches, education and the media are all suspects deserving investigation for abusing children from where I sit.
And of those thousands, the ones for whom the name of Jesus has now been so blasphemed by these “priests”, they never turn back and doom themselves to an eternity in Hell.
They have provided ammunition for the mockers to condemn the very One the priests were supposed to glorify.
Do you make any level of distinction between a man or woman of the cloth whose actions could potentially doom a soul to an eternity in hell, and a teacher, BBC producer, Freemason, or your neighborhood pedophile?
Catholics will never accept the truth about their church as their foundational worldview has been hammered into their psyches by priests, nuns, monks and the various Catholic cultures in which they were raised. The Catholic Church and its doctrine are irredeemably corrupt which inexorably leads to this this kind of horror.
Ultimately, this sickness is even more hideous in that the the abusers are among the most trusted individuals in their communities and are assumed trustworthy because of their assumed personal holiness and faith in God.
Well said.
