Forget ‘young voter’ stuff. They vote more conservative as they get older. Always have.

Right MM. I guess my choice was either to brood for four years or double down and fight these commies even harder than before.
I’ll fight.

People make the mistake over and over again of lumping SS and Medicare into the 47 percent equation but it is NOT in there. The 47 percent are getting other benefits, not the ones they worked for.
If you throw in K-12 teachers, academia, union officials, state and local gov employees and others dependent on grants and such, the population of government-dependent people is well over 50 percent—WITHOUT touching SS recipients.

Good summary.

The media did an excellent defense job for O by making it look like a high percent of the 47 were non freebie eligibles ( like SS )

Very true as Churchill said

“Show me a young Conservative and I’ll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I’ll show you someone with no brains.”

Chris Von Hollen on FNS; he is very happy to compromise on everything except the stuff he does not want to compromise on. And the media will let him slide on it. Chris Wallace is a perfect example of that today.

Dems are like negotiating with a union.

They think what already is theirs should remain theirs, and what you have should
be theirs.....

There are no give backs or compromise , unless they are threatened / realize they will become extinct.

O has been their lifeline......

As usual you are right snugs.
The fat basturd of NJ did have a huge effect on the election. And I think that Colonic Powell was an equally destructive force at least in Florida where his commercials never stopped running.
Both of them should be thrown out of the party.

I am fine good to be back. Yes I did sort of offer sympathy earlier on thread by saying saw writing on the wall after Sandy and Christie’s comments, our media jumped all over those saying he was handed the election to Obama . Chicken is for dinner tonight I can smell it yummy.

Not these young voters. These new cohorts are comprised more and more of minorities and they are the products of our liberal educational system. I don’t see them becoming more conservative socially or economically. You can throw those old models out.

I really don’t think there are that many takers/moochers as everyone is saying.
If you take away the SS numbers you have far less than 50%
I don’t know the actual number.
Once the economy goes where obama wants to take it and we are in so much debt its all we pay the left will not look so appealing,IMHO.

Voter ID in Republican states, and EV allocation by CD district would solve this. Now is the time. Right now !! while R's are in charge of state legislatures.. Scott in FL, Kasich in Ohio. Wisconsin. PA

Current Supremes will probably uphold voter ID, but not next year.

That’s what was thought in the 1880s and 1920s.

The coming economic slides and all-out wars will end this version of a New World Order. They always do.

I think it pays to remember a few truths. Springsteen had a concert in 2008 that 80,000 attended. This time 18,000 attended.
zeros crowds were often 2,800 while mitts was getting 30,000.I don’t see this thing as hopeless. We just have to work on what we do.

"successful boycott of Sunday Night Football. THAT is what matters to the bottom line."

Good point, but not likely to succeed. Football is huge and you're asking everyone to turn off the Texans and the Bears tonight.

NBCNews on the other hand is easily supplanted by the others.

I am fine dad has had a few health issue including couple of times in hospital in the last couple of months. He also has a slight chest infection which hopefully is getting better. He also had a fall with his carers a couple of months ago and hurt his ligaments which due to other health issues has not been able to rehabilitate from as yet but we do have physio in about 10 days.

Dinner is roast chicken, green beans and baked potato not sure what sweet is yet. Your soup sounds good but I am not a great soup eater made some pumpkin soup once and liked it also parsnip so I think I like sweeter soups.

Will lurk on the thread until dad's carers arrive to assist him in the chair for dinner and then when I put him back to bed will catch up on the thread. May even post a pic or 2
