Who Authorized FBI Surveillance of Gen. Petraeus?
Breitbart ^

Posted on 11/10/2012 10:51:39 AM PST by Perdogg

Even by the standards of the friday afternoon news dump tradition, yesterday's news that Gen. David Petraeus had resigned from the CIA was a stunner. The most heralded military officer of his generation fell from grace after it was revealed he'd had an affair with his biographer. The affair was discovered earlier this year soon after the FBI began monitoring his email. This raises a very serious question. Who authorized the FBI to monitor the e-mail of the Director of the CIA?

“This has the fingerprints of White House operatives all over it.”

This is a matter of falling into some good intel and using it to your advantage.

Petreaus should have known those emails would be discovered. Obama got lucky...or whoever is running the White House. Nice leverage and control of Petreaus.

I am glad the FBI is doing their job. This could have been something a lot worse. Why didn’t the CIA catch this or vet Petreaus before he took the position? Or did they and Obama saw it as a resume enhancer?

He wasn’t the director of the CIA when he was initially monitored.

And if you think about how gangsters work, he was probably nominated for the CIA position BECAUSE Emanuel had the explosive dossier on him.

Monitoring someone's email is not the same thing as investigating who is trying to hack into it.

I am not really trying to be funny, but we have some of the worst foreign agents come and go from this white house. In fact, they are running it. The good guys are the bad guys now in Amerika.

I hadn’t ‘connected’ all those pieces yet, either. Lots of things floating around, independently, for me. Thanks for pointing that central connection out. Now it’s starting to tie-together better.

“She was trying to hack his email.”

I think he gave her access. She had the same access to him while he was still in the Military. She had security clearances.

“Was she a foreign agent?”

Nothing points to that. Hopefully not. But, it does raise the necessary Red Flags. She could have been.

“Very unlikely that she was working on her own.”

She was just doing what she had been doing for six years, emailing Petreaus and his inner circle.

But I did not consider that ‘Benghazi’ was part of a plan to impune Petraeus."""""......

Maybe so, maybe not, one thing I do believe we will begin to unravel it in time.

The Benghazi "plan", I think will lead back to that stupid "video", it was produced back in June. I think the adminstraion knew this, had it made for just such a purpose as it was used for, when the Benghazi "plan" failed.

I do not think Petraeus was in any manner involved with the "Plan", he was just caught up in the aftermath, and resigned as to say "What the Hell happened to Me, what have I did they do to me?"... They needed an Honorable man in position, to give themselves credibility, FAIL.

Did the adminstration give one hoot or hollar about his reputation, or his marriage? Not in the least, he was useful collateral damage to them.

Benghazi Plan: arms to our enemies.

There just might be a “Ft Marcy Park”-like incident before that happens. Just saying, considering the treasonous, desperate, subhuman filth in the WH.

Mission ONE: Seduce the general to discredit him.

Mission TWO: Write a book

Total guano!

I see no evidence that she was motivated to write the book for any but the most honorable of reasons. The problem began when she and her subject found each other irresistible.

But the conspiracy didn't start until Chicago got on the case after the NSA looked at a flagged email containing the phrase "under the desk", realized what was going on and called in the FBI to investigate further. Due to the high rank of the culprit, they kicked it up to the White House, where Val and Zero and the rest of the gang realized they had an irresistible club over Petraeus, which they could use at their leisure.

This had all been going for months, it appears. It also appears her husband found out early on and probably forced her to end the affair, which only resulted in more emails from the addicted Petraeus.

This is so obvious it STINKS, folks. Too bad most Americans are too stupid to realize what's going on here.

Nonsense. Some times an affair is just an affair. CIA personnel are not supposed to carry on affairs because it may subject them to blackmail from the enemy. In this case, the the enemy sits in the Oval Office.

“FBI monitors government emails.”

The FBI is not allowed to monitor CIA communications - they are considered private to that agency. Can’t have FBI guys running around with CIA information. Who let them do that? Holder isn’t high enough to authorize anything pertaining to the CIA. Think only the president could authorize that.

The CIA said yesterday only they do investigation of CIA applicants and employees - the FBI does not, is not allowed to.

Sounds more plausible. Just as 'Fast & Furious' was a backdoor plot to assault our 2nd Amendment rights, The Benghazi 'protest over an Anti-Islam video' narrative was a two-pronged attack on both our right to 1st Amendment rights; free speech, as well as an inroads to Sharia Law in the U.S.

I believe it was March 2009 when 0bama said "More than 90% of guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States". EVERYONE knew this wasn't true. 0bama said it because he had a plan to MAKE it come true and 'Fast & Furious' was that plan and it was underway when he said it, we just didn't know about it yet. The plot to impose HARSH gun restrictions on FFL dealers was underway. If going after the gun OWNERS is too difficult, you go after the gun SELLERS and that's, in part, what 'Fast & Furious' was all about; an inroads at stripping Americans of their guns. The 0bama '90%' quote is the same 'narrative for the plot' as 'protest over a video'..

We STILL do not know if 0bama ordered F&F or not, and 0bama HAS NEVER ADDRESSED THE NATION ABOUT IT.

After the Benghazi attack, notice how 0bama was hellbent on blaming the video and an American (real or fabricated) exercising his right to free speech, INSTEAD OF THE TERRORISTS. There two reasons he did this: 1) Censorship of free speech in America, and 2) Establish an inroads to Sharia Law where criticism of the Prophet Mohammed is prohibited. At the U.N., 0bama said "THE FUTURE DOES NOT BELONG TO those who slander the Prophet Mohammed".. WTF!!!! THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT ESPOUSING SHARIA LAW!!! This fits perfectly into the theory that you 'never let a crisis go to waste' where Benghazi became a campaign to shut down free speech and establish a precedent for the imposition of Sharia Law in the United States. Note that the filmmaker was IMMEDIATELY arrested. Note that his sentencing trial was held 2 DAYS AFTER THE ELECTION TO PROTECT OBAMA by delaying America's outrage at his UNJUST sentence; ONE YEAR IN JAIL FOR PROBATION VIOLATION. A bit HARSH, isn't it? He was made an EXAMPLE of what happens when you slander the Prophet Mohammed!!!!!!

We STILL do not know 0bama's role during the Benghazi attack, and 0bama HAS NEVER ADDRESSED THE NATION ABOUT IT. We got a 'situation room' photo of the OBL raid. We got a Situation room photo of Hurrican Sandy. We NEVER got a situation room photo of Benghazi!!

By the way, given this affair can you think of a better name for a book than “ALL IN”??? Talk about sticking the knife in, eh?

I had a top secret clearance a long time ago....

Because of the work I did, the FBI visited my neighbors and family about once every three to four months asking questions about me and my familiy.....

I was also restricted on what countries I could visit...

The basic question is pretty much pointless and a non-issue at any level. Gen. Davy and his girlfriend are public employees using publicly owned com gear. EVERYBODY in military/security related services knows their communications can be spot checked or even shook down for appropriate use of both the equipment and type of traffic. Security people can rifle thru your desk on a spot check sometimes done once a year during a scheduled shutdown, usually for “maintenance”. It’s all a good reason to keep porn off your office computer.

Then again, how STUPID can Petraeus be to put ANYTHING even remotely incriminating in an email? The man is brilliant but like so many before him, and many to follow, fell victim to temptations of the flesh.

It's just poker terminology. It's been repurposed more than once.

What I've seen suggests it was an automated NSA email filter. The phrase "under the desk" flagged one of the emails for possible scrutiny as evidence of financial corruption. When a human analyst looked, it was obvious what was really going on. And, only at that point, probably after the WH was informed, was the FBI called in to investigate.
