Boehner's GOP Problems Complicate Deficit Negotiations (Stop "negotiations" and let it crash)
ABC ^ | 11/10/2012 | By JOHN PARKINSON

Posted on 11/10/2012 10:48:06 AM PST by tobyhill

House Speaker John Boehner is about to begin another attempt at a grand bargain deficit reduction deal with President Obama, a high wire act in which he will be buffeted by demands from the White House as well as from House Republicans.

The difficulty of keeping in step with the hard line approach of his fellow Republicans has been on view since the presidential election.

On Thursday, Boehner told ABC News' Diane Sawyer that repealing Obamacare was no longer his party's strategy saying, "Obamacare is the law of the land" and the election settled the dispute over repeal.

Shortly after his comment was aired, Boehner put out a tweet saying, "ObamaCare is law of the land, but it is raising costs & threatening jobs. Our goal has been, and will remain, #fullrepeal."

During that interview, the Speaker also told Sawyer that comprehensive immigration reform is a top priority in his legislative agenda during the next Congress. Republicans within his conference, like Rep. John Fleming, were livid.

"Is it too late to get rid of this idiot as speaker? Anyone else stepping up to the plate?"

It's time all of us Republicans grow up, quit whining & face reality.

Our Leadership in Congress & Senate (our CEO's) have failed us AGAIN.

In any company in the country, heads would roll & a COMPLETELY NEW TEAM would be put in charge.

Our congressmen/women & senators should demand to vote for new leadership,. There are many talented people that could give us a fresh approach & get the job done. It's time for MUTINY!!

The RAT party is singing the same old song - the Latinos hate us & we hate them. How about we want those borders closed because terrorists from anywhere in the world can come to this country to accomplish their mission. Latinos are not the only ones crossing that border. They are not going to sort out the Latinos from the rest of us!! We'll all die together.

Time to phone, email & agitate our own congress people to step up to the plate for us & we'll stand behind them.

This is something ALL of us have to do to change the status quo.

“Since when did RINO bashers become trolls?”

It is hard to tell when folks that are bashing elected Republicans are not democratic trolls when you’re sitting on this side of the monitor.

It’s like your bashing all the conservative constituents that voted for him, rather than just disagreeing with him on particular issues.

And no I’m not a big Amnesty fan... wasn’t happy when Reagan did it either.

No one who comes from an Obama state should be in a leadership post.

Excellent point.

Alberta's Child:

Let me help you understand WHY everyone's so down on Boehner.

1. Do you admire "men" who actually weep over politics in public instead of fighting the bastards he was elected to fight? If so, Boehner's that (sort of) "man."

2. Do you care about the babies and want to stop the slaughter? Boehner does not care. The babies don't cough up cash to "leadership."

3. Do you think gun ownership under the Second Amendment is a major priority for the GOP and our government? Boehner could not care less. Again, most gun guys don't create Super PACs to fund Boehner and $$$ is all that counts.

4. Is marriage an institution of one MAN and one WOMAN per marriage? What evidence is there that this is a Boehner priority? Don't you really think that Boehner would not care if folks want to marry space aliens or engage in twelvesomes or "marry" their household pets so long as the campaign contributions are fat enough from the perverts.

5. Do you think that the overriding be-all and end-all issue of American society in our time is preserving the tax privileges of the upper class even at the expense of causing ruinous tax increases on Americans of ordinary and modest means? Boehner does. As Willie Sutton used to say as an excuse for robbing banks, "That's where the MONEY is."

6. Do you think that veteran conservative (i.e., unlike Weepy John Boehner) GOP Congressmen should be purged by primaries arranged from Washington by out of state corrupt financing as a punishment for publicly requesting of Boehner that he call Congress into session last December for the sole purpose of enacting a resolution vowing no more debt limit increases to serve Obozo's agenda???? That is what Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy arranged to defeat my Congressman Don Manzullo and replacing him with a whore like Adam Kinzinger in an uber-GOP district. Kinzinger's qualification??? Kinzinger is a knee-jerk lap dog for the $$$$ obsessed brainless windtunnel totally unprincipled "leaders" in the House. Boehner thinks that if there are 236 GOP Congresscritters they should all be lock-step Boehner surrender-alikes.

7. Now, Boehner just can't wait to pucker up to go on autosmooch for Obozo's backside in service to the same corrupt interests that provide both sides with megabucks to screw over the general public. For Boehner, the purpose of this exercise is $$$ and only $$$ and to "party on!"

Those are just a few reasons why so many are totally fed up with the sorry excuses for "leadership" that infest the upper reaches of the House GOP.

Plenty more available on request!

Dump Boehner and Cantor and McCarthy and replace with actual conservatives who give a damn about all of those issues that are not related to further spoiling of the $$$$ privileged.

“We wouldn’t have to bash Crybaby Boehner if he would get a spine and stand up to Obama. “

Be specific will ya, you are simple parroting what others say, and it really doesn’t make sense. Apparently you feel comfortable in the group of people that like to bash elected Republican congressmen.

Who’s your congress person Ace... are they the Speaker ?

There’s a fine line that I think folks cross that separates Democratic trolls bashing Republicans and Conservatives bashing Republicans. How do YOU know the difference ?

Oh for Christsake are you that dimwitted to produce a document that simply spouts what looks like your opinions without any shred of legislative proof.

Look at that crap: just take number one:
“1. Do you admire “men” who actually weep over politics in public instead of fighting the bastards he was elected to fight? If so, Boehner’s that (sort of) “man.””

This is all your opinion... Do you sit in his meetings ? Do know for a fact that he’s not fighting ? Did he weep over politics ?

WHAT the heck is wrong with you - or better where are you from - some back room democratic blog room ?

Listen go market your trash to the poor unfortunates with Obamaphones that buy the crap your peddling and buy this crap as fact.

If your interested in an actual conversation about the issues then get serious!

conservatives can no longer be blamed for events that are inevitable.

In a sane world, yes.

However

In THIS world, conservatives will be blamed no matter what happens, whose fault, time of day, cause, or effect. If it would potentially make dems look bad, it will be conservative's fault.

Bank on it.

Based on that logic, Arlen Specter, Mark Kirk and Olympia Snowe might have been our toughest fighters "behind the scenes".

When the Speaker of the House says Obamacare is the Law of the Land, that speaks volumes.

Spot-on, BE. Precisely right. GOP “leadership” seems to be permeated with those that want nothing more to stay in Washington to attend the cocktail party circuit.

As Rush says, our guys do not understand they run the House and are the Majority. Seems to be a hold-over from 40 years in the wilderness. They act more like Minority Leaders or Minority Whips than Speaker.

Just doing nothing and letting tax rates go up is stupid. Raising taxes is exactly what they want. The more money they get the more they spend and the more power they have. It will set America back, make us poorer ... BUT will enshrine them in power.

If the Democrats are going to get what they want, you have to get soemthing out of it from them, and not throw in the towel.

Best thing would be to extend the tax rates for ALL Americans and challenge the President: tax increases for all or the same tax rate for all.

“conservatives can no longer be blamed for events that are inevitable.”

NOT TRUE. Just as they blamed Bush for the bad economy under Obama, they have been blaming the GOP House for failing to pass Obama’s awesome bills (puke). They WILL blame the GOP House for higher middle class tax cuts ... it will go like this: “Obama wanted 98% of Americans to have tax cuts and the GOP cared only about the 1% so they said no. GOP is to blame for higher taxes.”

Thats it. Doesnt matter if it is true or not.

EXACTLY!!!!

Well said!

It’s stunning to me the obviously emotional “Oh, let ‘em raise taxes, that’ll show ‘em!” reaction, people think that they can actually escape blame.

Wake up folks, Bush has been retired 4 years and he STILL is getting the blame for Obama screwups!

This is what I would expect from a democrat. are you another troll ?

That is what I would expect from a RINO. Maybe you haven't thought this through. Do you want leftists to control all 3 branches of government forever?

Boehner is signaling he will make a deal with Obama to import 10s of millions of leftist voters. For that he deserves to be voted out of his job. Monday I am calling my US Rep to vote against Boehner for speaker.

To get past the screeners (MSM), the republican with huevos, prior to making the move, needs to go on the live feeds, a presser, ostensibly to be contrite, then let them have it with both barrals, and look directly into the camera and state the case as to why they are going to do what they are going to do, then do it.

someone said that Boehner was drunk when he came out on the stage at the end of the convention...

If so he may be under the influence a lot and should not be Speaker...

we need a clear headed intelligent Speaker of the House who will make decisions in OUR interests...

When the rats control the House, they put a full-fledged communist, Nancy Pelosi, in charge.
So why do the Republicans put a moderate cave-in specialist like Boehner in charge?

I am sick to my stomach.

On Wednesday Boehner said “We're ready to be led”

Your statement “So you are another conservative who gets cues from the democrats” is ridiculous. The leader of the opposition should not be supplicating to the opposition, ready to be led by them! He should be championing the Republican cause!

Wake up!

Boehner does not champion anything other than his own position. He isolated the 2010 “Tea Party” members. He continues his obsequious grovelling before Obama. He refuses to combat Obamacare. Et cetera ad naseum

Who needs a leader like that?
