CBS ^

rally was scheduled on Long Island Saturday for fed-up utility customers to voice their frustration about still being without power nearly two weeks after superstorm Sandy struck, CBS Station WCBS reports.

Many residents will spend their 13th day in the dark and cold Saturday, and there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel

The 'poor respone' by The feds that many are complaining about is obviously because Obama hates white people. Does anyone think for an instant that if this happened during the Bush years and slammed black neighborhoods instead of white neighbor hoods that the MSMwhores wouldn't be screaming bloody murder 24/7????

Oh wait.....that happened didn't it?

“What I don’t understand is why doesn’t the goverment have warehouses loaded with stuff they could airlift at a moment’s notice.

I know every contingency can be taken care of, but at least a basic set of generators, MREs, tents, heaters, portapotties, bulldozers, etc.”

These are the questions that everyone has been asking from day one.

I am on the case. Along with my sister, we are purchasing diesel generators. I have an electrician who will be setting us up in the next few weeks.

The best type of generator to buy depends on your energy use now.

If you use oil to heat - you have a 275 gallon diesel tank in your cellar - go with a diesel generator. Home Heating Oil is Diesel Fuel.

If you have a gas line or using propane - buy a natural gas/propane generator.

If those options are not available - buy a gas powered generator - keep gasoline on hand always (rotate your stock by filling your car tanks and freshening up the storage cans - because it has that “icky” ethanol in it.)

This goes for everyone in the country, utility companies are run too efficiently - everyone will be waiting longer and longer to get back up to speed....take heed.

God Bless and good luck. A few weeks for set up? Damn, that’s so long!

I’m sure this won’t make you feel any better but I will try anyway.... Footprints.

Those generators are still sitting there because they are owned privately.

Well they were generously provided for the marathon....why not generously provide them for the people who need them?

Well I’ve seen Alabama here in NJ, and Virginia’s working my road right now. I’ve also seen Mississippi, and Florida’s here too.

I read they were owned or rented by the runner’s association or some organization thats involved with the Marathon.

Those big generators would have done very little anyway, there were 5 million people in NY , NJ & CT without power - 11 days later there is still over 1 million without power, some of my friends were told here on Long Island that they may not get power back on until after Thankgiving.

But they also had 10,000 cases of water sitting there that couldn’t do anything with and would have to eventually get rid of them.

Our two major Utilities here, Salt River Project and APS sent trucks and staff. Working in Long Island I heard. They flew SRP trucks over with National Guard planes.

I’m sure moveon.org would be happy to take the money and shuffle it off to ‘their approved charities’, those aligned with moveon. (by the looks of the five they chose).

I know they would not have helped everyone, but they could have helped some.

We had no power for a week. A co-worker just got the good news he is now up and running. He was the last. 1/2 here just got it back late this week.

Thanksgiving? Where on Long Island do your friends live?
