Hate to tell you, but in California being a democrat is already a protected classCalifornia is the base for most communists activity in the US. NY is next.

Every once in a while I fantasize about what might happen were seawater (or some other solvent) to wind up flowing through certain geological faults in the Bay Area.
I can dream...

In my state, for state jobs, they know how to keep the Republicans out. You get ten whole points for being a Veteran. The interview is worth 150 points.. (3 interviewers with 50 points each). The interviewers do not have to explain how they assign points to their interview score. As a Veteran, you start your interview at minus twenty with each interviewer. They know how to rig the game.

Not if it's a private employer. That said, I think the idea is....unwise. Does an employer have to give cause? Couldn't you just say, "I'm letting you go"?

That's what we did earlier this week. "Sorry to lose you, but anticipated business conditions dictate that we must reduce staffing at this time. Thank you for your service, and best of luck to you in your future endeavors."
Then, as the cashiered Obama supporter departed, closing the office door behind him, I muttered to myself, out of earshot, "And perhaps you should always remember that elections do indeed have consequences."
I will admit that he took it pretty well, all things considered.

“I agree with you on Constitutional grounds, but I doubt your local labor relations board would see it that way.”
If that were the case, the local politicians would have to hire aids from the opposite party.
