After watching that HBO movie (thanks George) I find it merely confirms my suspicions about the computerization of the vote. As ably demonstrated, it isn't who votes that count - it's who counts the votes; thank you Stalin!
Getting back to paper is the way to go, but there needs to be some additional restrictions placed for that to work effectively. It may be better to go to all mail-in ballots, and restrict the announcements of the totals to the next day or week.
