The Obama logo will replace the "O". Anybody interested? If so, freepmail me and specify bumper sticker or magnet. I will make them at cost plus shipping if there is enough interest.
This will be sort of like the fish symbol in ancient Rome. Your car won't get keyed because the Obamabots can't figure it out. But you will telegraph where you stand to fellow patriots.
This is from a well known canine based supplement from Nostradamus.
Was this Solomon dude related to Nate Silver? ;
Obama seems to want the world to think that Holder and Hillery did it.
Apologies to my fellow FReeps for posting threads about Bible code numerology experts interpreting a Romney victory from passages in Deuteronomy. I repent of that false carpola....
The Gods of the Copybook Headings
...As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
I’m thinking half of American returned that Fool to his folly.
I’m thinking half of America returned that Fool to his folly.
See also Lamentations 5.
Let the American people gorge on that vomit. Get out of the way, and let them die.
After Tuesday’s election I’m almost rooting for the Myan prophecy at this point...
1 Samuel 8:1-22 NIV
When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as Israel’s leaders. The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. But his sons did not follow his ways.
So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.” But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord .
And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”
But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord . The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”
Then Samuel said to the Israelites, “Everyone go back to your own town.”
You beat me to it!
I actually recently printed that poem out and framed the damned thing as a reminder to never forget the folly of fools!
Few people are aware that he also wrote one of my favorite Hymns which is shared by scores of Christian sects. Can anyone name the hymn?
God of Our Fathers
I’m not sure what you’re referring to ... I have always found this “comforting” (if that’s the right word)
Hymn Before Action
The earth is full of anger,
The seas are dark with wrath,
The Nations in their harness
Go up against our path:
Ere yet we loose the legions —
Ere yet we draw the blade,
Jehovah of the Thunders,
Lord God of Battles, aid!
High lust and froward bearing,
Proud heart, rebellious brow —
Deaf ear and soul uncaring,
We seek Thy mercy now!
The sinner that forswore Thee,
The fool that passed Thee by,
Our times are known before Thee —
Lord, grant us strength to die!
For those who kneel beside us
At altars not Thine own,
Who lack the lights that guide us,
Lord, let their faith atone!
If wrong we did to call them,
By honour bound they came;
Let not Thy Wrath befall them,
But deal to us the blame.
From panic, pride, and terror
Revenge that knows no rein —
Light haste and lawless error,
Protect us yet again,
Cloke Thou our undeserving,
Make firm the shuddering breath,
In silence and unswerving
To taste Thy lesser death.
Ah, Mary pierced with sorrow,
Remember, reach and save
The soul that comes to-morrow
Before the God that gave!
Since each was born of woman,
For each at utter need —
True comrade and true foeman —
E’en now their vanguard gathers,
E’en now we face the fray —
As Thou didst help our fathers,
Help Thou our host to-day.
Fulfilled of signs and wonders,
In life, in death made clear —
Jehovah of the Thunders,
Lord God of Battles, hear!
In some hymnals, the title is "God of Our Fathers, Know of Old". Powerful stuff and humbling as hell.
with only a partial tongue in cheek, and some slight humor, my first actual thought after the election results came in, was what impact if any? did hurricane sandy have? (Euroclydon was a nor’easter) Beasts are governments and there is an evil one certainly rising up now,
Amplified Bible (AMP)
13 [As] [a]I stood on the sandy beach, I saw a beast coming up out of the sea . .
Revelation 13 (ASV)
13 and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, . .
