As Ill not be around a PC this weekend (going duck hunting), I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the veterans here on FR and elsewhere who fought and served for this great country. If there are any heroes in this country, it is you.
You all are the best and I cant thank you enough.
God bless this great country.
same here from Chris in California.
Thanks, I’m a VFW, but it looks like the real enemies of America are right here...
Time to redeploy.
Good luck with the duck hunt. And, you’re welcome. We served with pride and at your pleasure. Sadly, it now appears that all who have served and those who died protecting our way of life may have been in vain. With much remorse, I lowered old glory Tuesday night and she won’t be going back up any time soon. Raised the USN flag and will probably put the Navy Jack up with her on Sunday when we go to the veterans parade in downtown Reno. But I can’t bring myself to raise old glory again for a long time. My ancestors fought in the revolution, my dad in WW II/Korea (32 years service USN),me during VN (USN), youngest daughter served(USN), niece was a lifer(US Army), oldest grand-daughter is still serving(US Army) and did at least one tour in Iraq. Bless their souls for doing something for this country with good intentions.
Helping keep mankind warm for 65 years.
My Dad used to go duck hunting..
Grey duck and Mallard...
nownagain he brought home a Canadian goose...
That was in New Zealand...
One month only...May...
and you had to have a licence...
He saved all the downy feathers and Mom made him a pillow...
We had chickens but Dad preferred duck feathers...
Great pillow...
Great eating...
Stuffed Roast Duck ...
Personally I regret the decade of my life I sacrificed protecting American freedoms, only to see the electorate vote to give it all away to a federal monster. I weep for those that gave all!
I took an oath to protect this country from all enemies, foriegn AND domestic. The enemy voted to enslave me last tuesday, I will treat them in the way they have earned.
Thank you to all our veteran and military FReepers
A list of free meals etc for you

I have an uplifting story to share. Yesterday, my daughter went to an assembly at my grandson’s school .He’s 11 and a fifth grader. It was a celebration of Veterans Day. She said there were probably 30 veterans, from every war, in attendance and many got up to tell the kids about their experiences. The kids then got up and read essays to thank the veterans. She said the way the kids cheered these men and women was so heartwarming. it was as if Tom Brady was on that stage.
I have to give this principal credit for doing the right thing in this pc world.
