If it’s BC/BS of Texas, it’s not a bad group of people to work with, at least from my side of the picture. Lots of patient info crosses my desk and I don’t recall any of my docs ever seeing anyone from Ford so they must not cover many lives in Texas. Seems rather strange though. Cigna has a bad history of low premiums for a year or two and then really increasing them.

Was at a meeting with BC on Wednesday. No one there said a word about Ford coming on board and all tried to put on a good face about losing the State of Texas as a covered group but it has to hurt. One thing about those folks that work with BC in Dallas. Everyone I spoke with voted for Romney and was very worried about BO being elected. Over the years, everyone I have ever spoken with always says Merry Christmas. One of the case managers at United Healthcare that I spoke with last year in December complained to her supervisor who called my client. I wished her Merry Christmas. She didn’t celebrate Christmas so I asked her why. She complained I made her very uncomfortable. My client told the supervisor “too bad”.

I don’t know which BC/BS it will be. We have to decide before the end of the year which plan we want. In the past, we were covered by BC/BS of Michigan. We are salaried retirees, not UAW. It will be interesting to see how much more it will cost us.
