I dont know, guys. I just dont know.
We didnt have a political strategy discussion. I said, `Congratulations on your win last night, Mr. President, and he said, `Thank you, Christie told reporters today at a National Guard Armory in Franklin Township
Asked if hes spoken to Romney since his loss, Christie said: No; we exchanged e-mails last night, Christie said. We havent spoken on the phone yet.
One of Romneys biggest fundraisers told WaPo (anonymously), A lot of people feel like Christie hurt, that we definitely lost four or five points between the storm and Chris Christie giving Obama a chance to be bigger than life.

Christie is a pig (not referencing his weight). He will NEVER get my vote if he runs nationally.
His promising future in the Republican party is gone....
As we say in Canada “la grande couchon” - translation: “the big fat pig”
Obama’s Christie = Clinton’s Lewinsky.
Has Corey Booker set up a campaign fund for Governor yet?
I plan on donating the max amount to it.
Laurel does Hardy, and vice versa
"There is no crying in Politics!"
If Christie ever had aspirations for higher office, in just a few short days he has totally flushed them.
OK. I'll be blunt. Maybe Christie has a crush on Oboma. He sure does treat him sweetly.
Christie seems to be showing more and more what an oink oink he is.
Stan and Ollie
The source article doesn’t say whether Christie called Obama or Obama called Christie. (Still, considering that Christie was the keynote speaker, it’s very poor form.)
Same page as you - he’s dead to me on a national scale. It’s one thing to be polite to the President of the United States during a disaster - it’s another to willingly make sure you give him great photo ops DAYS before a closely contested election where the other side made you the keynote speaker for their convention. Utterly classless and self-serving. Christie demonstrated which side he’s on when push comes to shove, and hopefully we aren’t alone in having LONG memories.
VERY TELLING.
Thank God, Christie belongs solely to New Jersey now.
Wife is predicting he will switch to dem. I don’t think so because they have their own scum and he won’t win their primary.
I hope he rots in political hell.
A little anecdote, my wife is a NJ public school teacher, she gladly voted for Christie and against her own financial interests for what was best for our state and country.
She now hates what Christie did, and I can tell you I do not intend to ever again vote for Christie, and I always vote republican.
Keep in mind all you people who defend him because of the hurricane, Christie got NOTHING from Obama except political cover. C Christie is a low life dog and he sold out this country and don’t you ever forget it.
new jersey — is there any other state left where you can’t even pump your own gas?
He’ll switch to Dem because that’s his only path to the White House now.
Don’t be surprised if he switches to Democrat. That’s the only way he’d win re-election.
Is it possible - just maybe- that he was thinking more about the people of his own state who had just gotten slammed by a hurricane, and less about Obama and the election? In other words - exactly what he said?
Not sticking up for the guy, nor am I here to argue or defend him; but trying merely to see from another perspective. I can’t figure out why he would fraternize with the enemy at that specific moment in time.
Other posters out here said variously that he may have been pissed that Romney chose Ryan over him as VP (but that doesn’t make sense, because he emphatically said that he didn’t want the VP slot - he was finishing out his governor term);
The other line I read was that he was trying to ensure that he would be re-elected in Jersey - a heavy Dem state - so he may have been doing this to hedge that bet a bit.
Thoughts?
I’m not saying that it was the right thing to do, and I’m pretty pissed about it as you are, as well.
What a jack hole.....And so many wanted him to run for president....no thanks
yeppers!!!!
No, that’s not possible. He gave Obama a tongue-bath. It was disgusting. He betrayed his party and his country.
The RINO boosters will be back to tell us how great he is and how he will win the independents to win the next election. Ugh!!
My prediction: Christie will pull a Specter sometime between now and his primary, claiming that there's "no place in the Republican Party for a guy like me anymore" (and at least we all agree on that) and all will be forgiven with the NEA.
Christie will be given some dumbass job, like Commerce Secretary, in a subsequent Democrat administration, and his appearances will always be prefaced with "former Republican Governor Chris Christie, whose bipartisanship offended hardline conservatives in the GOP said today that ..."
Can we set up an Intrade Market for how many days from now this happens?
I thought it an overly excessive display as well - especially since it actually was the ONE thing FuBO SHOULD be doing - his job.
So you think it was more calculated towards another purpose?
Again, why? and to what end? That’s the part that’s bugging the sh*t out of me.
There are no other states where the native motorists are so helpless or stupid that they need highly trained Pakistani’s to pump gas for them. Even West Virginians can figure it out for themselves.
I heard him referred to as a “Fat Bastard” on the radio this morning. Sounds about right to me.
You hit the nail on the head and even Haley Barbour concurs. AGree or disagree with what Christie did and said, he wants to make sure the government is helping his state. Haley was criticized by the media for NOT criticizing Bush during Katrina. The role of a governor is to look out for his state and people and to make sure he plays nice with uncle Sam as he has deep pockets. At this point, it makes all the sense in the world for Christie to bend over backwards to be nice to Obama, who is the President. Romney, the two time loser, can’t help Christie. Some of you are angry and that’s understandable but you are politically clueless.
I have so many posts on this that I’m not going to repeat them. But here’s the bottom line: Christie is a professional politician, and he did what he did in the full national spotlight in the last 100 hour news cycle before the election. Whatever the motivation, it was deliberately done to help 0bama and defeat Romney. We can speculate all day about reasons, but NO ONE should have any illusions about the intent — because Christie most assuredly knew full well what he was doing.
Slob. After 2 terms with this Marxist SOB, Christie could run against an Iranian goat and I’d vote for the goat. I’m numb to everything at this point.
Yeah, here in california we pump our own gas. We don’t need no stinking union type to do it for us and for that luxury we pay .53 in taxes for every gallon on top of the multi blends we have to pay so we are easily $1.50 over the national average right from the start. TODAY’S PRICE, $3.79 (87) $3.89 (89) and $3.99 for the high octane at the cheapest ARCO station in the Long Beach, CA. area.
Nice pic. There’s a “0bama will get re-elected when pigs fly!” joke in there somewhere but I’m not gonna touch it.
He is responsible for a state full of disfunctional, dependent people. He had to kiss the ring. Distasteful, but necessary. He wasn’t going to lead the Revolution anyway, no matter what. Now, if he becomes a toady, that’s another thing entirely.
Is there anyone else that thinks he needs to shed a few kilos? Stress + fat = ___
It is YOU who are politically clueless.
The slobbering effulgence of Christie's praise for 0bama during the last 100 hour news cycle before the election, in the full national spotlight of one of the most over-hyped storms in the history of the country was fully calculated for maximum detrimental effect. It was deliberate. It was despicable. And if he were actually worried about helping his constituents, he would have been out days ago yelling about the absolutely awful response by FEMA IN THE AFTERMATH.
So far: bupkis. But at least he was passionate about one thing: his man-love for his has-been, no-talent, Bob-Dylan-impersonator idol, "The Boss." That got his juices flowing.
He's finished outside of New Jersey. Deservedly so. He's a backstabbing POS.
“..it was deliberately done to help 0bama and defeat Romney...”
It sure does seem that way. But the motivation - self-preservation, or was he just pissed at being passed over (again, after repeatedly saying he didn’t want it...)
“...At this point, it makes all the sense in the world for Christie to bend over backwards to be nice to Obama, who is the President...”
We knew he was a RINO - yeah, he talked tough to the union folks that are bankrupting the state, but that ultimately means nothing. They’ll still be there long after he’s done and gone.
And it was premeditated self-aggrandizement, it backfired, because he is pretty much despicable right now.
“...Christie will pull a Specter sometime between now and his primary,..”
I’m of that mindset as well - “I didn’t get my way, so I’m taking my ball and going home”. Specter was a pure, grade-A, POS.
I just saw a post from one of my high school classmates on Facebook. She’s from New York, Black and a huge Obama supporter. No surprise there, but anyway, she just posted “Christie for President 2016. She says he has her vote.
Says it all, really....
F.N. Judas
I think Christie had four motivations:
1) to plump himself for reelection,
2) to create an opening for a 2016 presidential run,
3) to keep Obama from patching things up with Christie’s reelection rival, Corey Booker, and
4) to get even with Romney for having snubbed him for VP.
His very simple reason for waiting for what was the last minute as far as his opportunity to strike at Romney is that Romney’s campaign was giving him the funding and excuse to campaign around the country, ostensibly for Romney but really for himself, until the storm Sandy sucked up the last week before the election.
Don’t argue, guys. We’re on the same team.
We’re all pissed right now - stunned, actually - at the debacle that occurred - and what will be coming down the pike at us.
Let’s figure out a way not to get f***ed again, and how we’re going to put the screws to these people before they can wreck the country.
I agree with wifey !
Crist part two !
He
Has been
Plotting that Judas turn
For awhile
Christie will become Jon Corzines next body servant..
You cannot get much lower than that...
“another fine mess you’ve gotten me into with my party”
I hope Tubby Turncoat runs as a Democrat in 2016
“...to keep Obama from patching things up with Christies reelection rival, Corey Booker,...”
You know what - I never even thought of that. FuBO DID have a blowup with Booker about his going off the plantation, now that you mention it...
As for his 2016 run, I think we can safely say that he’s finished as far as conservatives go; the RINO bluebloods may try to resurrect him, but again, we need to start figuring out - NOW - how to stop both sides from f***ing us over again.
This is a battle in a larger war; we need to remember that always - in the same way that it took Pearl Harbor, Bataan, Corregidor, the Phillippines, etc., to get the surrender document on the USS Missouri.
I know it’s hard to see that right now - but it’s DEFINITELY how the other side looks and has looked at this struggle for control. What was Mao’s saying? Three steps forward, one step back?
They see the long field. They make a gain, then sit on it and exploit it, regroup, and come back for another. If they get defeated, they wait and try again. And in the meantime, they have multiple other attempts going on - so much so that we find ourselves concentrating on one or two things and getting the sh*t kicked out of us on twelve other fronts.
“Our” side has RINOs and spineless fools that we keep electing, hoping that just because they have an “R” after their name that they think like we do. They don’t. I think Christie - and as FredZarguna mentioned, Specter - are perfect examples.
We want to crush the other side; they want to go along to get along.
It may indeed be possible that Christie was just looking out for “his folks” in Jersey. But it sure as hell didn’t come off that way, and in the face of an election with such monumental consequences, I am of the mindset ANY damage, even the slightest, became magnified and Murphy’s law kicked in.
That’s about it...I do hope that when he settles in for the night, each night, as disaster looms on this country, he has a chance to think about the part he played in it, and how history will view him for it - there’s a certain Revolutionary War “hero” who sold out too, and he’s not remembered as the Hero of Saratoga (which he was) - he’s remembered as the guy who gave the keys to the defense of America to the enemy at a desperate time, all because he didn’t get his way.
He’s a disgusting fat body.
Your Bush republican party. Your divided against itself and what were once its principles republican party.
Tell me again the number of registered republican voters who stayed home? How many more have left the party altogether? Why is Ron Paul so interesting to so many younger Americans? What do they say are their reasons, not what you think they are?
The rinos have tried everything but principles and learning how to fight.
My advice? Get the first and the will for the second comes naturally. Get the first and the army to fight with will join you.
We have the will and the principles, just no one for us to join. Maybe you in what was the GOP should join us.
