The dims are going to try to get a deal that ties the GOP to the coming obamacare deep recession. The GOP is in disarray right now. It would be foolish to make a deal now with the heat of the election still on us.

You got it. I want somebody as a House Leader who will fight for working Americans and not somebody who will just kick the can down the road and then go work on his golf game.
To: lodi90
exactly. Just ignore Zero and his pleas. vote the bill down and let government grind to a halt.
Only the takers will notice any negative impact.

My real belief is that all the Bush Tax rates will expire and sequestration will happen when this is all said and done. Obama is now just angling to make it the GOP’s fault so, when the recession hits, the public will throw the GOP out of the house. That’s the plan. No doubt about it.

"Boner still has to get the republican congress to go along with him, Boner should threaten a government shutdown - what else has he got left ?"
More likely, Boehner will court Democrat votes for any deal along with the more liberal GOP reps so he won't need the conservatives. I don't think we can count on Boehner to hold the line or threaten a government shutdown. He wants a deal that gives him a little face saving fig leaf, Obama will get most of what he wants and then Boehner will be reelected as Speaker in January and the dance will go on.

That is a very good idea, especially if it is Allen West, who would most certainly liven things up in the house. I truly hope this idea circulates amount the Tea Party congressmen.

“Obama is the enemy, not Boehner. I hope we remember that.”

You want to “remember that”, you go right ahead! Boehner IS the enemy as well! He's indicated ObamaCare is the law of the land! He's shutdown the aspirations of the young guns we sent their in 2010!
Sorry, but Mark Levin is absolutely right: “Boehner has to go!”

They both are. BS. First, Obama is our enemy, at least get that part straight. Second, Bohner has to say one thing and do another to get this done properly. So don't start whining about it because you don't seem to realize that Obama can easily assert some sort of executive power and unilaterally change the budget..
Why? Obama will have a poll with 75% of Americans and 99% of the media supporting him. You are nothing but a couple of kilobytes on the internet and can do nothing to stop it.
The desired process and outcome is very simple. We need a Bohner to profess willingness to look at serious offers. None will come before the cliff. Then the CEOs of all the major defense companies call their Senators (not House members) and tell them to cut a deal with Bohner who will hold the cards.

I and many I know are not breaking their asses anymore. Today I left at quiting time even though there was urgent work.
Atlas is shrugging and Im positioning myself to go Galt.
Fredrick the Great said the art of war is starving your enemy to death. All we need to do is show the same work ethic that they do. They will soon know the meaning of hunger.

Didn't know we actually had a recovery. I guess I missed the memo...

Everybody should reflect on the campaign and collect Obama's promises and his renewed promises.
For example, remember when Obama said he thought 10:1 spending cuts to tax increases was a good deal? OK, when Obama is ready to deal in March or so, all the taxes will be back to when Obama claimed they were fair for everybody. Then give him his Buffett rule and get significant spending cuts (not decreases in rate of increase)
After January 1st the social security taxes will also come back and they should be left alone unless Obama is indeed willing to offer significant reform of social security - these items should not be decoupled or combined with other things that can confuse people - they need to keep things simple & focused in individual bills that Obama must agree to and not demagogue.
If the Republicans play their hand right then, at the end of the day, there will be tax reform, the base will be broadened and that 47% that pays not taxes will be put down to something more fair so everybody pays their fair share like Obama is always saying. Then more people will have skin in the game and start to pay more attention.
To: SoFloFreeper
Wrong. Weepy Boehner is indeed our enemy. He needs to be utterly destroyed.

Let's go over the cliff. It will be every ones fair share. People with money will pay too much and people with no money won't get any. Let's try that for the 10 minutes it stays in place.

I’ve tried for a hour to leave a comment on John Boehner’s website to STEP UP or STEP DOWN! It is freezing up so I am hoping that zillions of Pubbies are leaving him their sentiments!
