No. It became clear in the debates that Romney is not as liberal as people said he is.

But the Evangelicals just couldn't bring themselves to vote for a mormon. That, and after Akin's funding was cut off by the GOP, they took their ball and went home.

Blame them. If you voted for Obama, you are part of the f##king problem. And if you DIDN'T vote for Romney, if this country just wasn't important enough to you to save from a sneering, newly "flexible" marxist, then you are also part of the f##king problem.

Washington’s Farewell Address 1796
Excerpt:

Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.

In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity.

Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation deserts the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?

And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion.

Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

- George Washington, presidential Farewell Address

It became clear in the debates that Romney is not as liberal as people said he is.

All anyone needed to know about how liberal Romney is, was not by what people "said" he is, but what his record PROVED he is.

He was a competent, functional liberal Democrat registered as a Republican when he was Gov of Mass, and all his speechifying and editorial-writing confirmed a believer in "benevolent" government tyranny. Romney could say whatever he wanted in the debates, but folks famliar with his record understood the reality, and apparently, a lot of them declined to vote for him because of it.

That is exactly what happened. Enough conservative white voters stayed home to give it all to Obama. There is no way in hell Obama won because of something he did.

Couldn’t agree more. This nation is finished as a world leader. Half the country decided to commit suicide.
