WVGOP HISTORIC WINS
Biggest House and Statewide Wins in 80 Years
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Republican Party will have more Delegates and Statewide elected officeholders than any year in the last 80 years. Period.
"Tonight, West Virginia made the move to a two-party state for the first time in over 80 years," said West Virginia Republican Chairman Conrad Lucas. "We gave folks tremendous choices up and down the ballot. Tonight, we added at least ten new Delegates, three new State Senators and elected the first Republican attorney general since 1928 in Patrick Morrisey. Allen Loughry is exactly the kind of man this state deserves on our highest court."
Republicans now have more members of the House of Delegates than since 1930, with 46 confirmed as of midnight. And, the Party added three new members of the State Senate.
"This is the first year of many more to come. Our conservative values, our support of our energy industries, our message that West Virginia won't be last at anything anymore carried the day," said Lucas. "Patrick Morrisey gives us a professional attorney general who will do all he can to protect our state from Washington, D.C. and the EPA. In Allen Loughry, we are blessed with a conservative judge who can help us end an era as the worst judicial hellhole in America."
"Our work has just begun, but tonight we've staked our claim to take back Charleston from the insiders and corrupt incumbent politicians who have controlled our capitol for so long," said Lucas. "The voters gave us a measure of their trust and confidence tonight. We will do everything can we can to earn it with our plan to clean up government and return it to citizens. Inarguably, West Virginia's political landscape has changed forever."
Not really, considering states rights mean squat these days.
Arkansas did well too.
Congratulations West Virginia... you alone among the coal-producing states had the courage to make your stand against the filthy bastard in the White House who seeks to destroy your economy.
Yesterday wouldn’t have been so horrible if Federalism was still a real thing, after seeing increases off of 2010’s tsunami in state offices.
Still, at least West Virginia is breaking from the Rat machine that’s been in place for so long.
My own state is still being held hostage by Philly’s Rat machine.
NOT ONE county in WV went for Zer0. WV joins OK and UT as the ONLY states to claim this.
The new AG promises to go after the EPA....this is good for us
Proudly! I need to check if the felon in jail had any write-in votes
Michigan’s great shift to the right was in 2010. Our big wins yesterday was in crushing the union attempt to seize control of the state constitution.
Lots of state governments are moving to the right and its getting to be time to start talking about overturning the 17th amendment and regaining state control of the senate.
According to this, Judd didn’t get any votes

These state wins are irrelevant.
No state legislature will stand up to the federal government. The states’ rights are no longer relevant. How many states’ rights fights did we have in the first 4 years that were won?
TSA and Texas? What happened there?
Congratulations to WV! I did enjoy seeing this change, despite all the other happenings.
I like good news threads. We need a respite from all the Debbie-downers on here who are appalled that their candidate Romney got cooked.
And then there be the anti-Romneys, who should be celebrating their local victories. that is, if they decided to have any local victories.
GLAD WVA DID.
Thanks MadelineZapeezda.
WV better be prepared for some serious punishment from the obama administration. Obama will see to it that all coal mines in that state will be closed down, if that hasn’t happened already. And he will not allow them to reopen. In light of that, the republican government of that state had better be prepared to do without coal mines and the income they produce for the state, and find ways to encourage other businesses.
Thanks for posting some encouragement. Still kinda new to WV... And union slavery. Maybe I will belay moving to Texas for a year to see what happens. Meanwhile, the worst parts of Obamacare are kicking in right after the fiscal cliff drop off. I work in healthcare so, I am working on a backup plan.
Can you get rid of that arrogant POS One-Percenter Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WVa)? If there was ever a man who bought himself a state, it is he (along with the Kennedys)
Last Statewide Democrat Ousted
There are no longer any Democrats in state elected offices in the state of Alabama.
Roy Moore, after having been impeached for his 10 commandments stand, was returned as the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme court. The other justices are also Republicans.
It proves conservatism can win in this country.
But the arrogant GOP Beltway types want to make nice with liberals and help push forward the Denocrats’ program for them.
The few victories we had Tuesday where in places where voters were given a real choice. When there are conservatives running, they can win.
But if the party doesn’t offer them, the Democrat will always win by default.
Will they still reelect Sen Jay Rockefeller in ‘14?
