I hesitated posting tonight because it's just too soon to decide where to head from here. But that quote was the one I found most powerful today.

We can discuss campaign tactics and party planks forever, but none of it will matter till we counter the seemingly-successful efforts to "Disarm them, he advised; dress them in women’s tunics and soft boots, teach them to play the lyre and the harp, and turn their sons into shopkeepers"

Of course, shopkeepers would be vastly preferable to what they really want to turn our sons into.

At first I thought of joining the French Foreign Legion then realized I'm waaaaay too old. Then I though of flying to South Africa and hooking up with the Rhodesian Army ('Be A Man Among Men'), but realized that war ended decades ago when I was (cough) 'much younger'.

Then I thought that maybe the only option at my age is moving to Montana or Wyoming and finding a nice Cave on a Mountainside to hide in when the roving hoards of 'Takers' come looking for their 'Free Stuff'. But realized I wouldn't like sharing my cave with a Grizzly Bear and scratched that pretty quick.

So I've come to the conclusion -- screw it!! -- I'm staying right here in IL. I'll go on freaking welfare, get a free EBT Card, get a free laptop and free GD Interent, and get me a free Obamaphone. And if I don't.....
