U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill beat embattled Republican Congressman Todd Akin by a overwhelming margin in Missouri's Senate race Tuesday night.

With 99% of precincts reporting, the Democratic Senator lead Akin by a whopping 54.7% to 39.2%, according to the Missouri Secretary of State.

Akin conceded the shortly before 10 p.m. CST., the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

"Things don't always turn out the way you wanted," Akin said in his concession speech.

He ran on a platform that criticized incumbent McCaskill for supporting Obamacare, the stimulus act, and her family's close ties to federal money, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.

You don’t get it. You’re the one talking about abortion (which is indeed destroying our nation). However, I’m talking about you being the PC enforcer for the socialists.

This is you: “Political Correctness is Marxism, with all that implies: loss of freedom of expression, thought control, inversion of the traditional social order and, ultimately, a totalitarian state.”

Please stop supporting idiots in the primary. Your self righteous hubris has caused enough damage. Just please stop and think before you vote.

(not you personally, but Akin defending, Mourdock, Angle, and O’Donnell voting socon types generally)

You are confusing being impoliticly correct with being an inarticulate idiot. Allen West is impolitically correct. Tod Akin is an inarticulate idiot who shouldn’t have been running for senate.

go pound sand. I am not interested in pointing fingers or calling names. You can think whatever you want but you are more than just a little wrong.

It is this type of vitriol against other conservatives that left us with a less than desirable candidate and an electorate that didn’t come out to vote but chose to sit on the sidelines and gripe.

I am no lover of Romney. I too voted for this ticket because I desperately wanted to stop I and the communists. I loathe Rove and have for a long long time. His willingness to sell out conservative principles so he can claim to be the ‘architect’ is the kind of ego I think is evil

My suspicion is that you and I are a lot closer politically than you may think

If he’d have kept his mouth shut, he’d be getting ready for his new Senate seat today.

With the amount he lost by, I think he would have lost anyone. He sold out to the left, and did what he was supposed to. Hope he gets his 30 pieces of silver.

But the original selection process went fine. Politicians are people too (all evidence to the contrary). They make mistakes.

With Angle in 2010 and Akin in 2012 "the original selection process" -- the Republican Primary, was compromised when the Democrats spent large sums of money on advertising to win the nomination for Angle and Akin, because they knew Angle and Akin were idiots, who would give Reid and McCaskill their best shot at winning.

Republicans need to stop defending Angle and Akin, and admit that we were punked. If we keep allowing the Democrats to select our nominees by running ads during the Republican Primaries, we are going to keep losing seats that are ours for the taking.

But it’s okay for you to attack your own side for the sake of political correctness...

That makes you a fair weather friend at the best.

Thanks doug from upland.
Some of you go ahead and blame the GOP establishment if you like. But we know where the blame is... In a state won by Romney, we lost a winnable Senate seat. Nice going.
The one lesson that will probably go unlearned is, have a rote, innocuous, but truthful answer about third-rail questions that are bound to be asked by Partisan Media Shills.

Republicans need to stop defending Angle and Akin

When did they ever start

Like the Democrats in the Northeast who gave us Romney???

Sarah Steelman is no less Christian than Akin. Akin was retard who became a suicide bomber taking himself out and hurting the entire party becuase of his PRIDE.
He's effing sinner of the worst sort, now responsible for a all those aborted babies that Republican senate and president could have saved.

Akin and his type are suicide for the party. I cringed when i heard him on hannity refuse to get out and guess what?

Like many of us predicted Akin and his cult of idiots helped Romney lose and give obama that whole “war on women” nonsense.

Good job clue bags.

Refute what I have said.

For the record, I am pro-life, and in Manhattan, New York, not the northern tier of the Bible Belt.

I wish I had been wrong and McKasKILL would have been retired. As I said when he refused to leave the race for the good of his state and country, I was hoping to apologize for being wrong and be able to congratulate him on Nov. 6. But we were not wrong. Some of you essentially told us to shut up because we don’t know politics in your state. Well, how is that working out for you, geniuses?
