Laura Ingraham: ‘It would not surprise me if Chris Christie at some point became a Democrat’
Daily Caller ^ | 11/6/2012 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 11/07/2012 8:07:59 AM PST by Qbert

Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who came out long ago in favor of his party’s nominee Mitt Romney’s candidacy for president, apparently upset a lot of people on the conservative side for his embrace of Romney’s opponent, President Barack Obama in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. And according to conservative talker Laura Ingraham, it was taken to the point of “embarrassing himself.”

On her Tuesday radio program, Ingraham, the author of “Of Thee I Zing: America’s Cultural Decline,” criticized the New Jersey governor for his latest comment expressing his excitement in hearing from Obama supporter and rock star Bruce Springsteen.

“Speaking of embarrassing himself, Chris Christie … was out there and he was very excited, not because he’s voting for Romney,” Ingraham said. “He’s excited because he got a phone call: not just from the president of these United States, but he got a phone call from Bruce Springsteen.”

Ingraham went on to point out that Christie shares a character trait with Obama in that he often talks about things in context of himself.

“You know what, I’ve just got to say this: He has a lot more in common with Obama than we thought,” she said. “It’s all about Chris Christie. ‘My Jersey Shore,’ ‘my roller coasters underwater,’ ‘my hero Bruce Springsteen,’ ‘I have to pinch myself to go on Air Force One as the son of an Italian immigrant,’ or whatever he said.”

“Me, me, me, me, me. And I know he’s done a lot of good things for a lot of good people, and there is something about me that does like Chris Christie at times. But I find his behavior in all of this to be really just bizarre at this point.”

But she also suggested that these signs point to Christie becoming a Democrat, which she said wouldn’t surprise her.

“Let me tell you something , Chris Christie — it would not surprise me if Chris Christie at some point became a Democrat,” Ingraham said. “Doesn’t surprise me one bit. It really doesn’t, in the end.”

He needs to become a Democrat. In fact, a number of Republicans should be encouraged to become Democrats (officially), as both parties would be improved by the moves.

IMO, since there is a lot of agreement with previous posts, maybe it’s time to think of a new opposition party?

“Let me tell you something , Chris Christie — it would not surprise me if Chris Christie at some point became a Democrat,” Ingraham said.

Earth to Laura you Pubbie elitist twit. Chris Christie is a DEMOCRAT and he has ALWAYS been a DEMOCRAT. Why would he want to officially become Democrat when he has made fools of Pubbie elitists like yourself. Actually, Christie is TOO FAT to ever amount to anything in the Democrat Party because they are prejudice when it comes to appearance. They never let their fat boys think they could ever be considered for POTUS or VP. The best a fat boy can do in the Democrat Party is a leadership position in the House like Nadler and Barney Frank both of whom were way smarter than that skinny idiot Joe Biden.

"And Ann Coulter was deeply enthralled by this tub of lard!"

I've noticed something about Coulter- she is deeply fixated on brash, outspoken Narcissists (Bill Maher, Christie, etc.). It overrides her political views.

All I can advise to all Classical Liberals is go John Galt.

Get small, sell the stuff you`ll never use. Don`t work overtime, consume less, purchase little, barter, pay in cash,go to ground, get a small country home, try live as quiet as possible.

Obama/Soetoro`s plan worked when in 1998 he said he could forge a permanent coalition when the majority get “ free “ stuff or subsidies from the Govt. and it`s happened.

Lots of wolves running around in sheep’s clothing .... hurricane Sandy seems to have blown the last large chunks of fleece off of Christy. Bowing & scraping to Obama .... good luck with that now that Obama has what he wants (power for at least 4 more) ... he’s notorious for being ‘cold’ & ‘unfeeling’. Christie sold his soul .... good people won’t support the wolf any longer and he’s going to be ‘Benghazied’ by Obama. Christie has also jeopardized private donations of help .... folks who aren’t socialists are going to hang on to their own for their own survival and those voting for Obama can go suck on the government teat for as long as that lasts.

"hurricane Sandy seems to have blown the last large chunks of fleece off of Christy. Bowing & scraping to Obama"

What is particularly appalling to me is the notion that a governor would even feel he needs to grovel in order to get relief from the Federal government. When people are dying and suffering, it should be a no-brainer that a president would help, regardless of what state is in trouble (whether it should be the Federal government's role in the first place is a separate question, of course).

When you feel you have to beg for something that should be given without question, that is when you lose your humanity...

Does anyone consider Collin Powell a Republican?

I have always considered Colin Powell to be only nominally a Republican (and of convenience at that), and thought as much even during the Gulf War and his SoS days. Deep down, I think he is actually nothing more or less than a "Colinpowell-ican" or a "Colinpowell-ocrat" depending on who is able to further Colin Powell's ambitions at any given time.

IMO Colin Powell ad for Obama was the most effective as for either campaign, easily.

Actually, the fattest President was not that Republican/Bull Moose Teddy Roosevelt, but the Republican William Howard Taft who was so fat that he would get stuck in the bathtub in the White House.

The Republican Grover Cleveland was no small man either.

Thankfully, Republicans are not prejudiced against fat men because Cleveland, Roosevelt, and Taft were all honest and decent and always good Presidents and in the case of Roosevelt a great president.

The party has left the building.

It's dead, Jim.

Their brand has been defined for them and they went along with it. Don't believe me, just look at the record and come to your own conclusions.

My guess is we're on the ride described/alluded to in The Harbinger and we arrive at our destination in 2015.
