Gay Marriage Passing in Three, Possibly Four States (America is Changing Before Our Eyes)
Christian Post ^ | 11/07/2012 | Paul Stanley

Posted on 11/07/2012 6:46:43 AM PST by SeekAndFind

With election results pouring in and President Obama re-elected to a second term, according to network projections, gay marriage activists are celebrating three, and possibly four victories in their efforts to legalize same-sex marriage in Maine, Minnesota, Maryland and Washington State.

Although results were not in for Washington State at the time of publication, it appears same-sex marriage is set to become legal in Maine, Minnesota and Maryland.

With 37 percent of the precincts in Maine reporting, same-sex marriage is leading by a margin of 52 to 48 percent. In Minnesota, same-sex marriage is leading by a slight 49-47 percent.

With 84 percent of the precincts reporting, same-sex marriage is leading in Maryland 52 to 49 percent. One of the many pastors that have been in the trenches in the battle to stop gay activists from legalizing same-sex marriage is Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr.

Although he has primarily led the fight in his home state of Maryland, as a prominent evangelical figure on the national scene, Jackson has traveled extensively showing other pastors and church leaders how to take on the issue when confronted with incredible spending deficiencies.

When The Christian Post spoke with Jackson via phone late Tuesday afternoon at his home in Baltimore, he was eagerly awaiting results from Maryland and the three other states. When asked what he felt the evening's outcome would be, he could not give a definitive answer.

"Only the Lord knows," he replied with laughter. "But the polls here (Maryland) indicated a tight race, but historically, voters tend to support traditional marriage in greater numbers than polls report. When people go behind that curtain they vote their convictions and that's what we're counting on."

Jackson went on to say that the countless volunteers that have worked for traditional marriage in Maryland have been "amazing."

"We could not have gotten the message out without them," he said. "When you are outspent 10 to 1 then horsepower is what you need and that is what we had."

However, when Jackson was asked if gay activists could claim a significant victory if they won at least one of the four states on Tuesday night, he was more emphatic. "No, I don't think they can claim a victory with only one win," he said. "One reason they can't claim victory with one win is because of the spending disparity and because of President Obama. His endorsement gave them a huge advantage but it may turn out to be a disadvantage if enough Christians vote their conscience."

"For the other side to claim a solid victory, they need to win one or more of the four states and re-elect President Obama. Without the White House they have an uphill battle because the only way they've been able to make any progress is through the manipulation of the judicial system with liberal judges in tow."

CNN, FOX, and other networks are reporting that President Obama has been re-elected to a second term.

I always shook my head at the head-in-the-sand crowd here who liked to boast that same-sex marriage is voted down every time it’s on the ballot. They ignored the fact that just a few years ago nobody even considered such a preposterous notion.

It will never be accepted by Real Americans - about 49% of the population. However, the Government will try to force us to accept it. That is a given.

Celebrated? Doubt it. There aren’t that many gay people and there is an even smaller number that want the unnecessary hassle of marriage. It’s a gimmick. In 2 years, you’ll be able to count the number of gay marriages on your hand.

While doomsday predictions are rife right now. I would expect that these same states will put forth laws to protect the “rights” of gay’s from “hate speech” by those who would dare oppose or suggest that God opposes such wickedness. If that does not happen eventually our courts will make that decision for us. All in the name of “rights” of course.

Proof what America needs is revival.

My liberal family members are celebrating it today and they are not gay. I feel it has little to do with gay marriage and more to do with bringing down Christians. Maybe I’m wrong but it’s how I feel right now.

Sooner or later, it was going to win, and when I heard that it had come up as a referendum in Washington State, where I used to live, I knew it would there, especially in King County, which is super-liberal, and has a pretty good-sized chunk of the voting population.

So, can’t say I’m surprised in regard to WA; I would’ve been surprised if it had lost.

Trust me, gay marriage has been hard on gays. There are quite a few up on bigamy charges and suffering through messy divorces.

It's an issue of demographics. Young people are overwhelmingly in favor of gay marriage, and have been for some time. As they age a small proportion of them will change their mind, but the majority will still support it. We just saw this play out, and frankly there's no stopping it.

I think it likely that the Republican party will officially endorse gay marriage within 20 years, perhaps as little as 10.

You are correct. It is all about attacking Christianity. That is why such seemingly disparate groups can join together in voting - homosexuals, Muslims, feminists, liberals of all stripes - they all have one common enemy, Christ.

It was always a danger, at least in the modern era. The definition the state uses is simply whatever judges, pols or the majority think it is at any one time. Pope Leo XIII saw this coming 130 years ago.

Tell that to Sodom.

Given that the historicity of Sodom is dubious at best, that would be rather difficult.

Any city or nation that gives itself over to this will be destroyed.

And yet, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Connecticut, Denmark, Iceland, Iowa, Massachusetts, the Netherlands, New Hampshire, New York, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, and Vermont are still here...

Anyone that thinks a marriage is defined by another man having anal sex with another man, or a woman strapping on a dildo and having sex with another woman.......well they ain’t playing with a full deck.

No sane society votes for this garbage. Any state that has citizens with an ounce of morality and decency votes AGAINST this degenerate, immoral crap. North Carolina is a prime example. When sodomite “marriage” is passed in any Southern state the fags will have reason to rejoice. It ain’t gonna happen.

A whole new legal profession will be opening - ‘Gay Law’ to deal with all the future gay divorce issues re adopted children and custody, birth mothers deciding they don’t want their children indoctrinated in the gay community, etcetcetc.

Hell, let them all get married. They can suffer the same consequences as straight couples - division of property, spousal support, etcetc. Have fun, guys and gals! The lawyers of America thank you!

And judging from what I have observed, a lot of gay folks have multiple partnerships that are less stable than straight partnerships - and if they get married every time they are ‘in love’, the legal fees will certainly be a surprise to them.

Maybe Obama will bail them out.

I agree that Southern states will not pass gay marriage. On the other hand, once it's passed at the Federal level (likely in the next 10 years), Southern opposition will be moot.

“Young people are overwhelmingly in favor of gay marriage, and have been for some time”

The ones you speak of are the brainwashed masses in the public school system that are indoctrinated by leftist teachers beginning in kindergarden. They are thought that sodomy is normal behavior, which it absolutely is not. It is a perversion and nothing else. A chosen lifestyle that will surely lead to an early death from vile diseases. The function of the anus is to control the expulsion of feces from the body. It has no other purpose. And in the cases of lesbians a woman strapping on a dildo and inserting it into the vagina of another woman, does not constitute a marriage.

Only one of which --- SOuth Africa --- has a replacement fertility rate. (Ours is way below: it's 1.89 as of 2011.) And all of which now have public schools and public health agencies teaching boys about the best methods of male-on-male penetration.

The fertiility rate doesn't depend on gay marriage, of course. It depends on the underlying value system of gay marriage: adult gratification via sterile sex.

This is what straight couples achieve via hormones, spaying, and the suction curette.

That's why the LGBT agenda is supported by straight voting constituencies. Straights have been practicing gay marriage for over 40 years.

One factor to consider my friend — Because of this election victory, Obama now has a free hand in appointing judges, justices who seat in our the judicial branch. The Democrats have ADDED 2 more senators to the upper house and Harry Reid is still majority leader.

Scalia, Kennedy and Ginsberg are approaching 80 and will before 2016, be REPLACED. THESE ARE LIFETIME APPOINTMENTS and even if the Republicans take the presidency in 2016, they will probably have 6 liberal justices to contend with.

I don’t expect the courts to be the conservative’s or the constitution’s friend in the next 4 years.

Elections have consequences and this one has one of the biggest consequences of all.

Of course it is changing. What I can’t understand is why nobody here manages to identify the source of the change. If America is changing into something you don’t recognize- thank a teacher. And it’s only going to get worse. American public education is literally in the hands of the very people who were rioting in the streets of Chicago in 1968. Like Lenin, Mao, Che and Pol Pot, they think they can bring about a perfectly just society if they can just get rid of the reactionaries. Of course they will fail. But they will destroy this country and kill a lot of people in the attempt. Expect more Obamas in the future.

Homosexual “marriage” is only a relatively small portion of the negative replacement rate. As you point out, far larger are such matters as abortion, contraception, etc. The white populations of North America and Europe, whether historically Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox, are in decline relative to the overall national populations. Nature abhors a vacuum. The increasing Hispanic and Asian population in North America and the increasing Muslim and African population of Europe will inevitably, given some decades or maybe a century or so, outnumber European-Americans and Europeans. Pat Buchanan is and will be vindicated in his predictions, unfortunately.

Liberal Hawaii passed its amendment by 69% in ‘98 at the start of the process, while fairly conservative NC passed its amendment by 61% in 2012. It wasn’t even an issue 30 years ago. I think it is very much possible that some southern states repeal their amendments in 30 years, if folks in black robes just don’t cut out the middlemen in the meantime.
