5 Big Stories The Media Will 'Discover' After The Election
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 11/06/2012 | IBD Staff

On issue after issue, in fact, the media haven't covered Obama as much as they've covered up for him, whether it's the dismal state of the economy, the failure of his policies or the increased troubles abroad.

The effort worked remarkably well, helping to shield Obama from responsibility, protecting his image and providing a solid floor under his approval ratings.

But ... the fact remains that the country faces huge problems that must be addressed. And after the election, the press is sure to churn out what can charitably be called "now they tell us" stories about these matters, once any potential election impact has passed.

There will be no scandal—the MSM is in control. The only person who could turn on the MSM is Obama himself. All will be swept under the rug. The power he has is tremendous —GOP is finished as a party and now exists as a scrape goat for Obama’s failures. Look to see Obama in power for at least 10 more years! Next election—Michelle Obama for President—A Woman! Van Jones for VP. The GOP will run sarah Palin or some straw man to lose over the women’s vote. I see events coming that will change things—War. I am ready to just stop being political—no more time wasting votes! Just vote for Democrats because they are the only ones who win.

“The media won Obama re-election, why would they undo that? “

Because he doesn’t do what they want him to do. The media loves the role of Kingmaker. They get Democrats elected and keep them elected. But it’s of no use if the Democrat doesn’t respect their power. I think that is why Obama flipped on gay marriage. The media was getting ready to hammer him.

The House is going to keep Obama bottled up. The media will try to villainize the Majority Leader to some extent. But Obama will still have to play ball.

The only story they’ll “discover” is how a mean-spirited and vindictive GOP-controlled House of Representatives is standing in the way of “moving forward” by not rubber-stamping the panoply of spending programs and debt-ceiling increases.

That will last two years.

The Democrat/Liberal-Media will show no mercy towards the GOP. They are focused on a socialist utopia, and they will stomp on proverbial (and perhaps literal) conservative heads to get it.

Agree w/ the other comments, there’s no way Obamamedia will cover any of these stories. They’ll continue to cover them as ordered by their owners, the rich globalists. We will become what they want, just another banana republic, equal to others which includes Europe. Obama is also a globalist and has no loyalties to this country. They are standardizing all countries and carrying out Agenda 21 unchallenged. The media all have good paying jobs, as do the unions, the rest are happy to get the leftover freebies, who cares about anyone else. It’s every man/woman for themselves as there are no longer any morals or values since God was removed from the schools and the townsquare. The best thing any of us can do is pray unceaseingly.

The media has a problem with attacking large groups. They prefer to create a boogeyman like Gingrich and just attacking him.

The media won’t do a thing. They are part of the Liberal Elite and control this nation.

Romney was a weak candidate but he had still could have won the election had there been a modicum of journalism in the MSM. We conservatives often live in a bubble, reading our blogs, National Review, Fox News, conservative columnists on Townhall and the postings here on Free Republic. What we have to realize is that probably 65% of the electorate never has any exposure to these news sources. They either don’t watch news at all or, often out of custom, they watch the network news. And when the Networks decided to go all in for Obama in 2008, it became almost an impossibility to overcome the fraud that they perpetrated on the American people. They hid the truth. They spun for Obama when he screwed up. They attacked conservatives. They manufactured news to cast Obama in the best light and his opponents in the worst.

It will take circumstances even more dire than we are currently in or a dynamic leader in the mould of Ronald Reagan to overcome the institutional bias of the MSM. America is on the precipice but hasn’t yet hit rock bottom. When that day comes, we better hope that the GOP can discover a candidate who can actually inspire passion in the American people - an individual who is currently not on the horizon.

Cheerleading for the White House isn’t as profitable as attacking the White House. Scandals sell papers, so to speak. An Obama re-election is expensive for the media. Their profits will drop even more. They made a lot of money during the election but that money gets used up quickly.

In reality, this was not a good outcome for the Democrat media. It’s great for Fox News and the Rush Limbaugh’s of the world because they can cover the scandals.

Our regional newspaper went ballistic over “voter suppression” which made me suspect voter fraud was going to be committed. They declared war on Republican poll watchers. The fix was in and the newspaper was complicit.

There IS a bright side to this election. The numbers show that there is a razor thin difference in voting America. The country is divided in less than 50% for Obama & less then 50% who voted against him.

Obama has no real mandate & it's our duty to make sure that our side does what is necessary to turn this around. We need to stop tuning in to the left media propaganda machine to bring their viewership & sponsors down. The same with newspapers, magazines & anything else supporting the left. Alumni need to check what the colleges are teaching & withold any contributions to them if they are left-oriented.

The storm - Sandy is going to put on display the failure of liberals & how they handle a catasrophe. They can't parade Obama out for a photo-op & get away with it any more. People are desperate & crying for help & Fema had no pre-planning in place & actually had to buy water from distributors. That's how bad it is. There are so many things going wrong & it's going to put Obama on the spot about how he handles things. In my way of thinking he has no clue about what to do. Another storm is moving in to make matters worse.

So the other narrow nearly half of the country who voted for him are going to have to live with the results. It's going to be interesting to see how the media handles trying to cover this one up!!

If my math is anywhere near correct, only c. 5% of the United States population voted for Romney, and of those not all were conservatives. Same for those who voted Obama back in . . . they are not all that big and powerful in the scheme of things. There is still a wide world of opportunity.

Wrong. The media will just go on with their lofty mission of trying to get Republicans to say stupid things about rape, and blaming them for everything bad that happens during Obama’s term in office.

Their purpose has devolved from “truth-telling” and idealisting championing of various casuses to just this—getting Democrats elected.

That would be great.

There are STILL democrats in office that first got elected in 74 cause of that. Like Pat Leahy.

While I agree in principal with your assessment, there will be some stories the media won’t be able to sweep under the rug.

For example, Fiat IS looking to move Chrysler to Italy to gin up their European bottom line and are only awaiting how the Italian government will handle the tax situation. Jeep is starting production in China because it’s a hot item there.

GM is losing market share quickly and will be back with their hand out shortly. Also, I found recently that Cadillac is moving the production of the CTS and other models to China because of demand. This is in addition to some of the R&D facilities that were once in Detroit. How is the media going to spin the massive layoffs that will occur when this happens?

Further, there is a little thing called sequester that is looming on the horizon. O promised the defense contractors that he would pay any associated legal bills if they didn’t make the required 90 day notification of layoffs. This will impact over 200K workers. Since we still control the House, I don’t see how he’s going to get the money to bail out his buddies.

The Bush tax cuts expire in less than 60 days and when people see even less money in their checks, increased fuel prices and unemployment, the masses may start to wise up.

Sometimes it takes a bitter pill to cure the patient.

Benghazi is not going to go away. Say what you will, but there were 4 Americans killed while Obama slept. There will be some outlets whether in the new media or possibly even Fox that will eventually get to the bottom of that story.

The biggest fear that Obama should have right now is the survivors of Sandy. He’s had his photo op with Christie and they still have no water, electricity, heat, or homes. Most of these people want the goverment cheese and when they find out there isn’t going to be any, they will turn on him in a minute.

Obama has written checks with his mouth that his a$$ can’t cash.

Yes, we will have to suffer through at least 2 years of the media fawning over him, but we have some depth on the bench and it’s time we make our voices heard to the leadership that going along to get along is no longer acceptable.

There is a way.

We support Breitbart, Michelle Malkin and others who are true voices of conservatism. We back the Allen West’s and Mia Love’s, and yes, Paul Ryan to make them the face of conservatism. We primary the RINO’s that have become too “comfortable” in their beltway lifestyle.

Boehner needs to go. McConnell also. There will be no compromise. Dingy Harry said he wouldn’t work with Romney...Fine...we won’t work with Obama. Since the spending starts in the House, we set the agenda. We pass the budget, start true entitlement reform, de-fund Obamacare, force the Dem’s to take a position and then if the government shuts down, we control the message.

Look, I’m tired of us always being the gentlemen. Everytime we “reach across the aisle” we get burned. Fine. it’s time for the “have” to serve notice on the “have-nots” that unless they decide to contribute, they get what they deserve...nothing.

I am angry. I will no longer sit silently on the sidelines. If it takes camping out in my Congressman’s office to make sure we start adopting a true conservative agenda, then that’s what I’ll do. If we have to abandon the GOP for a third-party, fine.

This is still the greatest country on earth. Our founding fathers were patriots who fought a stronger enemy with skill, cunning and courage. They didn’t win every battle, but they won the war. I’m not ready to cede my countries heritage to this enemy, I am ready to fight again. Surely, we owe our founders that much.

I'm thinking this is right. The Republican House was elected by the same electorate last night that voted for Obama as president, so no one can claim they are illegitimate somehow -- the electoral clearly expected that this would be a possible outcome, and chose it.

They did not vote to have a Republican House on some strange assumption that they would just vote to agree with Obama on everything.
