I’ve got the same problem and am at risk of posting articles
FReepers bombarding me with comments of having already been posted. I’ve tried searching FR using three different browsers to make sure it’s not a matter of some specific issue with any one browser but could not do a search with any of them, Firefox, Google Chrome, IE9.

I found a method thatcan/might work. Do the search on Google, Yahoo or Bing. Enclose a title within quotation marks and add freerepublic.com:

"What Does a Second Obama Term Mean for Gun Owners?" freerepublic.com

It works when this forum's archive search fails.
