"Our Father in Heaven, we come before Thee this day in supplication, prayer, and fasting for our nation. Dear Father, forgive us of our shortcomings, both as individuals and as a nation. We pray on behalf of the tens of millions in this land whose still revere thy Name and thy Word, and who seek Thee and Thy Son.
"We pray for a healing of our land, Father. This day, we in this nation, due to thy grace, kindness and love, will be able to exercise our right and duty \to vote for our own leaders and exercise our own free agency as a people in that choice. We pray that thy Spirit will be upon our nation and the people of this nation, that they will choose candidates and policies that follw thy commandments and decrees as given us in the Holy Scriptues, the Holy Bible.
"May we vote for life, Father, the life of thy dear children and the spirits thou hast prepared to send to this earth, and move away from the horrid practise of in any way legalizing their murder in the womb."Father, may we follow the motto of our nation, wherein we say, "In God we Trust", and prove it by how we live our lives and in the representatives we elect and laws we pass...and not make a mockery of it be either electing reprentatives or passing laws that condone the very opposite of Thy counsel to us and incur Thy righout indignation and wrath.
"May we vote for thy Holy insititution of marriage, the most basic building block of our society, and that union condoned by Thee and defined by Thee as between a man and a woman.
"May we vote to condemn sodemy, and any base immorality in all its forms for the sins they are, and seek to love and help the sinner to abandon these practices Thou hast warned us of.
"May we vote for the principles of liberty, of moral conscience and the recognition of exercising that moral conscience without governmental compulsion.
"May we vote to end the horrid cancer of deficit spending and debt that hangs over our nation as a sword.
"May we vote to keep this, our nation and its constitution, both of which have been inspired, and aided, and upheld by Thee, strong and capable of defending itself, its interests and its allies throughout the world.
"May we vote to re-enthrone individual responsibility and accountability in our daily life, seeking to work for what we get, and to generously and privatly provide means through charitable actions and giving to help those who truly cannot do so for themselves.
"Dear Father, we seek thy blessings on us this day, as we repent, as we fast and humble ourselves, as we spend the day in reflective thinking and prayers drawn out to Thee for the preservation of our Republic and then as we vote according to this prayer for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and generations unborn, and may we do so with an eye single to thy glory, that thy word and gospel may continue to go forth to the world from this place, we pray, in the name of our beloved Savior, thy Son, Jesus Christ, Amen"
May each of, throughout the day on election day here in 2012, and on every single election day in the future, work our hearts out for our nation and its constitution, in the weeks and months leading up to the election to choose wise, virtuous, moral and God-fearing candidates who are dedicated to our Constitution and its underlying foundational moral values and principles. And may we do so in the spirit of II Chronicles 7:14, where God declares to us, that if we will repent and pray to Him, that He will heal our land. And may we do so in the spirit of the many statements and inspiration afforded our founders, who declared that,
"We hold these truths to be self evident. That all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. That among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
And the wise words of Patrick Henry who delcared, when facing times of severe trouble of their own, that,
"There is a just God in Heaven who presides over the destinies of nations. He will raise up friends to fight our battles for us..."
God grant that we will remember our roots and foundational principles and that we will, with respect to our inspired constitution and bill of rights, hold fast to them, defend them, and bear true faith and allegiance to them, and to God in Heaven who gave them to us.

Let us all join in prayer and fasting, and casting our vote for the foundational moral principles that define this Republic...which are also God’s principles and if adhered to and adopted by We the People, and by extension through those we elect, will Heal our land. II Chron 7:14.
Amen, Jeff. Amen.
...and if instead punishment is to be handed to us for our wickedness, it’s all our fault.
Thanks Jeff,
We’ll be praying in Southern Utah.
On another note, a good LDS friend dropped off a fifth of vodka last night that we may be able to celebrate in proper style this evening. At least we know how the vote will go in Utah.

Fasting, not so much.
Thank you, Jeff.
May God have mercy on us.
May God be with us.
Brother, Jeff: Prayers have been up in ernest re this election for at least a week.
The key is;
IF
Amen Jeff
Dinner tonight Filet Mignon with the finest Cabernet possible. And that's tough in Southern Utah. Wine, not the beef.
And God. If you don’t see fit to grant this wish.... then please give us Romney......
...and longer. Just have to continue that spirit right non through to the finish. Thank you bro, for your faith!
the lesser punishment
No problem, my friend.
Sinply put there because our Savior said, when speaking of certain evil spirits that, “these come not out but by fasting and prayer.”
I figure if anyone fits that catergory, it is Obama and his admin...and we difinitely need them to be booted out.
Fasting does not have to be all food and water. Just pick something you might otherwise enjoy for the remaineder of the day, and put ot on the alter (so to speak) for God as a part of the prayer process.
That’s the type of thing I am referring to...but each must make their own decisions with respect to any expression of faith.
Bravo Zulu.
And, we pray that once again, a majority of American citizens may rediscover and acknowledge the ideas of Creator-endowed rights and liberty underlying our Declaration of Independence and Constitution, so that we may hold our elected leaders accountable to the limitations we place upon their power under "the People's" Constitution they pledge to uphold!
The Unique Idea
Underlying America's Constitution
CREATOR
People
Our Constitution embodied a UNIQUE IDEA. Nothing like it had ever been done before. The power of the idea was in the recognition that people's rights are granted directly by the Creator - not by the state - and that the people, then, and only then, grant rights to government. The concept is so simple, yet so very fundamental and far-reaching.
GovernmentAmerica's founders embraced a previously unheard-of political philosophy which held that people are "...endowed BY THEIR CREATOR with certain unalienable rights.." This was the statement of guiding principle for the new nation, and, as such, had to be translated into a concrete charter for government. The Constitution of The United States of America became that charter.
Other forms of government, past and present, rely on the state as the grantor of human rights. America's founders, however, believed that a government made up of imperfect people exercising power over other people should possess limited powers. Through their Constitution, they wished to "secure the blessings of liberty" for themselves and for posterity by limiting the powers of government. Through it, they delegated to government only those rights they wanted it to have, holding to themselves all powers not delegated by the Constitution. They even provided the means for controlling those powers they had granted to government.
This was the unique American idea. Many problems we face today result from a departure from this basic concept. Gradually, other "ideas" have influenced legislation which has reversed the roles and given government greater and greater power over individuals. Early generations of Americans pledged their lives to the cause of individual freedom and limited government and warned, over and over again, that eternal vigilance would be required to preserve that freedom for posterity.

Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly, and rebelled, even turning aside from Thy commandments and ordinances.
Righteousness belongs to Thee, O Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day...open shame belongs to us, O Lord,...because we have sinned against Thee.
To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him; nor have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
O Lord, hear and forgive our sins and take action on account of Thy great compassion. [Daniel 9]
In the name of our precious Lord Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, and the only Name given under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved, we pray.
Agreeing with you in your powerful prayer! God bless America!
