Number two: The FEMA response has been, by all accounts, underwhelming. You make the absolutely correct observation that many of his constituents are freezing and hungry. So, why was the man who so effusively praised the President for essentially doing nothing but making promises not out walking around the beaches criticizing the response? Why did it take until Friday for FEMA to order 2 million MRE's in response to a storm that everyone knew a week in advance would leave as many as 10 million people without power? So logically, I think we must conclude that Christie's refusal to criticize FEMA when he is presented with a clear opportunity to do so is additional evidence of his duplicity.
Third: Speaking of emo, Christie did blubber on about how it made him cry to talk to his idol. Really? That's great. So apparently he can bestir himself to be passionate about some things; just not on behalf of his starving, freezing constituency.
Fourth: Yes, I apologize. My response to you was nasty. However, I thought you were short with another FReeper on behalf of a man who has stabbed us in the back with potentially disastrous consequences. We'll see.
Finally: The rumor is that Christie was encouraged to believe the job was his, but that Romney changed his mind after the European trip. Like many of the things in the rumor mill, that may or may not be true. But clearly, whether that was the cause, or the difficulties of his own reelection in a very Blue State was the cause -- or whatever -- he is a person whose profession is to manipulate public perception. Believing that he would step into a national spotlight to praise the flailing standard bearer of the political opposition in a tight race "accidentally," is like believing that Lawrence Olivier would accidentally jump in front of a camera and lapse into Hamlet.
Romney FINALLY realized what Chris Christie is all about- Chris Christie?
He is the reincarnation of a late Roman Republic demagogue.

Don’t agree. The political norm would be to invite him to allow him the opportunity to reject if he thought it appropriate to do so. Romney has tired of the insulting court jester and his latest stunt with Obama clinched it.
Here inJersey. No power except from generators but at least I have drinking water.
Apparently so. She was on Hannity's show tonight, defending Christie....Hannity couldn't get her to say anything critical of him.
take care and good luck
I thought Christie wasn’t interested in being Romney’s nominee. Or was that for show ?
