The most recent jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) contains some disheartening statistics, reflecting just why Obama’s campaign is so off kilter. As usual, the media have chosen to focus on the two items most familiar to the general public, the monthly jobs number and the unemployment rate.

Just looked this up: FDR spent $4.6T (inflation adjusted) on the New Deal AND World War II, and unemployment went from 22% to 2% over 10 years.

Obama spent $6T in new debt, and unemployment went from 5% to 8%.

That’s because Obama hasn’t had a major war to draft people from the unemployment lines, other than that FDR’s policies stunk to high heaven too.

Oh, I agree completely. I never liked FDR's "solution", or the fact that WWII was necessary to pull us from the brink of economic destruction.

My point was that the SPENDING was the same. FDR "invested" less money in the economy, and got better results. Even following the liberal playbook, Obama is an economic disaster.

FDR getting a pass is to blame for a lot of today, yesterday, and 30 years ago.

But your intent is spot on. Also, I didn’t realize how much FDR spent adjusted for inflation. Thanks for that.
