In their blatant attempt to pump up President Obamas crowd sizes, the media has taken to inventing seats at arenas. Yesterday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported:
With help from pop sensation Katy Perry, President Barack Obama drew 20,000 people Saturday...[Snip]
Its good to be so close to home! he shouted to roars inside the Delta Center in downtown Milwaukee.
[Snip]
That claim was also reported by the Hollywood Reporter and various other outlets.
Only one problem: the capacity for the Delta Center in Milwaukee is 12,580.

Sigh.
LOL! What idiots some of these reporters are!
They were counting the obama votes not the seats.
All local news here in Minneapolis reported 10-12K for Ryan event today
The reply was that it “included people outside who weren’t able to get in.”
Pics? Im sure 8000 people were outside an arena waiting. lol

Wonder what other Obama’s sizes are exaggerated.
Romney had a big turnout in Denver Saturday night. This is after the huge Red Rocks turnout a week or so ago. They gave away 25,000 for a 10,000 seats at Red Rocks. They had to create overflow. My son and I were part of the group turned away, but we did get to see him Saturday night.
wasn’t it a freeper that figured that out and told Breitbart?
I bet it was
There’s no way he drew 20k under any circumstances. My comment was the result of asking a reporter who gave the 20k number. At least she replied with the rationale.
I’ve been to a lot of rallys on both sides this year and you have to take about 25% off the capacity for any room due to the stages, backstage area, press riser and security perimeters. When I do crowd estimates, I try to count seats when they exist or take photos, count one area and extrapolate.
I would put the Obama event at 8500-9000 at the high end and 7000 at a more reasonable level. I wasn’t there, so I’m limited to press reports and video, but I’ve been in the room and they did not use the whole area based on the video and stills I’ve seen.
If they truly thought they would draw 20,000, they would have used the Bradley Center which seats more than 17,000 for basketball. The Delta Center is just a convention center and isn’t even a clear span facility. It is full of pillars. The video I watched didn’t show the pillars blocking any area. If that was the case, it was lower than 7000.
Everyone had someone on their lap?
If you’re expecting a lot of imaginary friends, it’s important to secure enough imaginary seats to accommodate them.
Since the average democrat votes five times, that means a crowd of 4,000.
My small but analytical mind says that "most" of Oblunders crowds are there to see a free show.
Oblunder should just try showing up by himself and see what kind of crowd he draws... Just saying.
So 12,000 showed up to see Katy Perry? That’s not surprising.
Bump
