Daylight Saving Time 2012: Time to Set Clocks Back This Weekend.
ABC News ^ | Sat, Nov 3, 2012 | ABC News

As standard time resumes at 2 a.m. Sunday, it's time to "fall back," so set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed tonight.

Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time is mandated by governments, which instituted the time switch during World Wars I and II to save energy and resources for the war effort.

In our two-person household, we have 14 clocks that will automatically reset themselves, and 17 that will need to be manually adjusted. It makes me wonder who out there in Freeperland has the most timepieces to adjust tonight.

(Counting cars, computers, phones, etc.)

If either Presidential candidate were to make an iron clad commitment to do away with this nonsense for once and for all...

I would vote that person...regardless of party affiliation.

Don’t forget to set your clocks back before you go to bed Sunday night.

"Now I want to make sure you good folks here in . . . here in this state . . . get yourselves on a proper time schedule, so that you'll be on time to vote on . . . to vote next week! So remember, tonight, before you go to bed, be sure to set your clocks one hour . . . forward! FORWARD!"

Windows, Mac and Linux computers now automatically adjust the time without need for user intervention.

Democrats should just set theirs back to 1980.

Just a reminder...

A wise American Indian Chief once observed that,"White man is surely crazy if he thinks he can cut off one end of blanket and sew it on the other end and have more blanket." Here in AZ. we recognize Native American wisdom.

Heh, ever see one of those self-setting atomic-clock synched watches do its thing? The digital style is subtle enough, but if one with an *analog* face resets for DSL, it looks like the intro to The Twilight Zone.

Yep, but a lot of old time house clocks still don't. I've got a 1978 $4,500 Rolex GMT Master 1675 that doesn't. The newer GMT Master IIs do it automatically.
