New Jersey an 'Apocalyptic Vision' Two Days After Obama Photo Op
Breitbart ^ | 11/2/12 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Two days after President Obama flew into storm-ravaged New Jersey on Wednesday for a 90 minute photo op with Governor Christie, parts of the state have descended into what one local resident calls "an apocalyptic vision." On Friday, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, this New Jersey resident described the situation there:

New Jersey right now is experiencing an apocalyptic vision. Gas lines are a mile long. Hundreds are standing in line with gas cans. Fights are breaking out. Police and national guard have been called out. I've not had power or taken a shower since Sunday. Pray for us here.

FEMA reps are meeting with people in their residences to assess how recovery assistance can be provided to them.

While FEMA representatives had finally arrived on the ground by Friday, most of them appear to be focused on providing financial assistance to victims of Hurricane Sandy at some point in the future. There is no indication yet that any FEMA representatives on the ground are actually doing anything to aid in the distribution of food, supplies, gas, or restoring electricity.

On Wednesday, President Obama promised to deliver a far rosier outcome to New Jersey residents over the next several days. In fact, the President made a specific promise that he would make sure supplies were delivered, as CNN reported. Two days later, he's failed to deliver on that promise, though he has been able to campaign in key swing states across the country during that time:

Many people across the region are still in need of basic supplies. President Barack Obama visited a shelter Wednesday in the hard-hit town of Brigantine, New Jersey, where he said he met a woman with an 8-month-old who has run out of diapers and formula.

"Those are the kinds of basic supplies

There are going to be some very ugly days and weeks ahead, when we kick his treasonous muzzie ass out of the White Hut/Crib. He and his racist, hate-America Regime From Hell, will exact revenge upon this Nation and its Citizens. They will not “go quietly into the night”...

When I am in a restaurant, no one wearing a military uniform pays for their meal.

I do it anonymously, and many times I find that others have beat me to the punch. sometimes, after I tell the waitress to bring me their bill without them knowing, the waitress tells me the management has decided to comp their meal.

Sorta shamed them into it. I love when they look around after the waitress tells them someone paid for their meal.

My wife is my partner in crime. It costs us some, but the ROI is terrific.

And don’t forget to tip the waitress for the extra meal and keeping a secret.

Bravo for you and Mrs e82. I do the same thing in restaurants; plus buy their coffees & pastry in convenience stores/delis. I’ve had as many as 3 other customers beg me to let them split the bill with me, anonymously at the register, and we always take good care of the waitress. I do the same for volunteer fire/police here in PA.

* Can anyone imagine what the results would have been had Sandy been a Cat 2 or bigger storm? Frightening to think of*

Like Katrina?

"You don't know what you're talking about. I've lived in New England all my life and I've never even heard of the term "wash ashore". What does that even mean? Nobody is "shunned" because of where they come from and frankly, nobody really cares. People move in and out of these parts all the time."

You are just making all of this up!"

LOL, really? Go ahead a google "washashore" and take your pick. here's just one,

http://www.capecodtoday.com/blogs/index.php/Washashore2

It is a term directed toward non natives of New England, people who are said to have "washed ashore" and decided to stay. I am making nothing up. I lived there for 12 years on the Cape and can cite you many instances of what is considered the typical and boorish "circle the wagon" attitude of the average native toward what they consider to be an outsider.

Listen, all that needs to be said about you folks in NE is you worshipped the Kennedy's, one of whom was a serial womanizer and the other who was a drunken, murdering slob.

I did google "wash ashore" before replying to you and came up with zippo with regard to New England. It sounds like you really had to try hard to come up with something in a Google search. I guess if you have the time to flip through screen after screen of results, you can come up with an obscure result eventually.

Been living here all my life and never heard that term before.

I gave you a link to a newspaper which uses the term. It is very, VERY common on the Cape. Maybe not so much off Cape. The Cape is almost all shore line anyway and if you live inland and perhaps not in MA it isn’t used. But because you never heard of it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Hell, look at all the people in NE who loved the Kennedy’s despite their record of womanizing and even murder. Apparently they are clueless to what is going on around them as well.

Good points. I saw all of that photo opp-ing as a help to Christie. He needs to look good and wants to be re-elected too. All political. Blind faith in leaders = a shame. Like Rush pointed out this week, loosely quoted, “No government will save you! - private businesses/people will.”
