This is the state of this country now, election by soundbite. They lay in wait for some soundbite that can be echoed 1,000 times a day then they run with it.

And America pays the price.

“There you go again”, “Wheres the beef?” and “I won’t use my opponents youth and inexperience against him” were all soundbytes that helped influence elections some 30 years ago.

So this is nothing new to American politics.

The great man, and exceptional President who uttered those lines was blessed with the lack of complete poligical tone deafness being exhibited by the likes of Akin and Mourdock. I think Akin has, miraculously, recovered to the point of actually being able to pull off a win. Mourdock I dont know about. But the fact is that even if they win their paths to victory were needlessly difficult, resulting from self inflicted wounds.

RE: Ambush questions from the Democrat “mainstream” newsrooms about abortion

Here is your answer. Study it. Memorize it. Get a brain.

“As it stands now, abortion is a Constitutionally guaranteed right in this country. I disagree with the court’s 1973 Roe v Wade decision, but there it is. There have been no significant votes in the Senate (or the House) directly pertaining to abortion other than attempting to ban the gruesome practice of “partial birth” abortion, and I anticipate no votes on abortion anytime in the near future because the issue is currently settled law and will stay that way unless the Supreme Court reverses itself.

“For this reason I won’t waste my time, or yours, on speculative ‘what if’ questions about abortion. Let’s talk instead about the things I CAN vote on... Let’s talk instead about how we can roll back the socialist welfare state, repair the economy, get people back to work, and restore America.”
