This Deliverance stuff still bothers me after seeing that movie many years ago. I canoe the Elk river some in Tennessee and I always got an uneasy feeling putting in on the river at daybreak 23 miles from the nearest civilization. Deliverance always comes to mind, especially with the early morning fog. It’s very creepy and unnerving. I thought once about getting a banjo and hiding downriver a ways from the put in point and strumming it a few times as canoe parties came by just to watch their reaction, lol.
