23 million U. S. Citizens out of work, and you don’t see a problem with recent immigrants making up the lions share of new hires? Really?

Recent immigrants have not invested their family savings in homes, forming a family, contributing to communities, and doing what it takes to be a good citizen.

They are able to live in much more meager living conditions. They are able to pack their bags and move at the drop of a hat. They are much more willing to work for sub-par wages.

How does a citizen with roots compete with that? Isn’t it the citizen we should be supporting?

If this make sense to you, then welcome to the absolute crash of U. S. living standards.

Indeed, if one looks back to the Great Depression, that’s when the US (led by FDR) instituted some very draconian immigration controls to prop up the labor market that wasn’t making enough jobs. These controls held down our rate of population growth (and were partly responsible for the very high standard of living post-WWII) until that drunken Irishman (but I repeat myself) named Ted Kennedy put through the backbone of the modern no-limits immigration system in 1965.

Obama USDA met 30 times with Mexican gov’t to promote food-stamp use among Mexican immigrants

That’s more than Obama has met with his own intelligence officials in the last few years.

But hey, keep working and clipping coupons- millions of anchor babies depend on us.
